Michigan vs. Wisky....

Post by WolverineSteve »

What say you Goobs?

I say Michigan usually handles Wisconsin's big runningbacks. Wisconsin is thin at wr but they have a good tight end who could expose Michigan's weakness at lb. I hope Michigan goes man to man on the wideouts and loads up on the run. If they cannot contain Hill this one goes south with a quickness.

Michigan offensively has improved each week. Despite all the turnovers vs. ND, Mich racked up impressive yardage albeit against a questionable Irish D. McGuffie is the real deal and Threet is now the decisive starter. Michigan has many waterbug types who can be dangerous if they can catch the ball in some space and be sprung by a key block. If UM can get up early, and by enough to take the running game away, there's a chance for the upset. If the turnovers continue, putting the D on more short fields it could get ugly for the home team.

Total homer called shot.....

It's been a while since the Badgers have won in Ann Arbor...in fact, it's not happened since I was in junior high.

Wisconsin is the best team they'll play up to this point and it will be the first with a true ground game. The Badgers are 13th in the nation in yards per game on the ground. Evridge has yet to be sacked in three games this year so you know they are up to their usual tricks with having a strong offensive line. Michigan has to take away the run and make Evridge beat them. He isn't going to bomb away on their secondary like Claussen did last week. They are a more conventional passing game with short throws and the tight ends are very active targets. It'll be RichRod's first shot in Big Ten play and we'll see if he'll be able to scheme and beat one of the traditional conservative offensive attacks.

Being able dictate the tempo of the game and to win or break even in the turnover battle will be the big keys. Wisconsin is +2 this year compared to -3 turnover margin for the Wolverines. Another thing I'd like to see this team continue to work on is their third down offense. Michigan is 24% in third down conversions but on the bright side, the Badgers have allowed teams to convert on third down 44% this year. Maybe this is the game they can at least begin make strides in that department.

I just see Michigan not quite getting there yet and the Badgers have conference title aspirations and they'll get a nice conference-opening win in Ann Arbor Saturday. I wouldn't expect it to be anything greater than a touchdown difference either way but I'll the Badgers in this one.

Wisconsin 24, Michigan 17

i think michigan's only in this game because of a methodical wisco o that'll cash a couple in late only after wearing down barwis. the lb's are going to get shit on all day while deciding between covering beckum [spell?] or tackling hill, and by tackle i mean bounce off of him. but like i said, i think the game will be reasonably close enough that a few breaks our way could mean an actual win.

wisco wins this game eight out of 10 times. they'll probably win 8-2 just to make my point.

The NCAA banned horse collar tackles this August:

Why did I just see a blatant example in this game, right in front of the fucking official?

Oh yeah - it's in Ann Arbor, and it's a Big 10 officiating crew.

This game has been awful so far...it very well could end up being an 8-2 final.

I can live with a bad year if it's just one year to get RichRod's system in place. I'm reserved to the fact that this is a team that could potentially lose all the remaining games on their schedule.

Exactly. Better not blink, it might be the other team's ball.

This is one of those games that neither team seems to want to win. Or, as tards would say, both want to win it too much. Hey, philosophy is in order, this weekend.

They can't hold onto the ball or tackle. I don't call that a "system adjustment," I call that horrible coaching.

Just as I read this comment, a 5th-year senior puts the ball on the rug.

I'm not going to bend over backwards to defend RichRod but I'm going to give him some leash for this year. I'd like to see improvement as this year rolls on. What does disappoint me is the fumbles. Their ballhandling is getting worse with each week. When I hear about them practicing one arm drills during the off week...it doesn't sound like it's working.

This is ridiculous. You gotta be fucking me here. Can anyone hold the ball? Is fumbling contagious? How can all these fucks cough up the ball? Doesn't the staff preach ball fucking security? I feel for the defense. They've forced 3 turnovers, forced Wisc. to punt from the goaline...and the pathetic offense or special teams gives the motherfucking ball away!!! I can handle the losing this year, we knew it was coming. But this level of fundamental ineptitude is not acceptable!

^^^ That's what I'm saying. Institutional fuckups are one thing. Blowing assignments on offense, getting routes crossed, etc., that's to be expected. But the failure to tackle and the constant fumbling is inexcusable.

In other notes, Navy up 17-0 at Wake.

I look at that last return by Odoms...the ball is on the inside arm as he gets near the sideline. It's a fundamental thing to put that bitch in the outside arm. Thankfully he hung on though.

INT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, what the fuck is going on here! Notre Dame must really suck. The offense had made strides each week, in gaining positive yardage that is, the turnovers were still an issue. Now after a bye week this team looks like they've never seen the playbook.

What happened to RR molding the offensive scheme to the talent he's got on the roster? He's got speed yet he refuses to go wide of the tackles. When he tried an end around it was to the motherfucking short side!! Throw the cunt downfield. Hit Butler up the seam. Fuck these bubble screens and faggy option handoffs. The Wisky front four is killing our undersized inexperienced line. There are 9 seniors on the Wisky D.....this will be a looooooooooooooooooooooong year.

Time to commence the cerimonial killing of many brain cells.

Much like an NFL team playing the Lions...you can't take a lot out from playing against Notre Dame.

That's a veteran, hard-nosed defense that Wisconsin has and they are making the young Wolverines look like children right now. The Badgers haven't had to work hard for this first half lead. The only thing they've done wrong is a couple turnovers and the fact they've had to settle for 5 field goal attempts and scoring just one touchdown.

There's not much to look forward to in the second half...I'm sure we're going to be subjected to watching Sheridan under center and that's a painful experience for the eyes. This has definitely been Threet's worst first half and I can only assume that RichRod will give Sheridan some snaps in the second half to hopefully turn things around.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

All they need to do is mix it up. There are other guys not wearing #2 that might like a shot at carrying or catching the ball. Where's Shaw been? Where are the quick slants to Mathews? The motherfucking TE ?

Rack the defense, they've been fucked by a multitude of turnovers the past two games and continue to hold on for dear life. If this continues there will be a divided lockerroom.

Fuck Pryor...this is all his fault :waz: :hfal: :brad:
