AM I really saying this? Seems we have to hit rock bottom in oredr for those asswipes to actually entertain me for once. I was interested in seeing the meltage over there and to my surprise, I see some there have a sense of humor.
as a longtime observer at Texags.com it's been a little sad to see the full-stop delusion turn to cynicism over the last decade. even until about 05 there was always a July/August thread "are we this year's 2000 OU?".
i know there is a FriscoAg who still posts over there......you wanna share something with the group, Indy?
i don't what happened to Francione, it's like someone took out the "i can coach" part of his brain. tough break for the program.

Last time I posted there was 2000. I had about 9 posts before I got banned. My name was Frisco Aggie just like on the original Rome Boards. I have seen FriscoAg on there and I assure you that is not me. I only lurk there from time to time when 1. We start off a decent season and I want to see the calls for NC 2. We have 1 bad game and want to see the calls for coach/QB/etc. change and 3. When we are in the dumpster and meltage is all around.
The state of football at A&M is, in fact, very sad. No way will we be this shitty for long though. Too much money, support, facilities and overall resources to be a cellar dweller for long.
I'm giving Sherman 3 years to get his kids in there, his playbook known and understood and results to show for it. If after 3 years we have not made significant improvement, he needs to go. The XII South is so tough though it is hard to sustain the top spot year in and year out. I would hope we can at least get on 2-4 year runs every 7-8 years though. I would take a XII championship ever 7 years as would most not named OU or t.u.
i was just funnin ya. i didn't think that was you.
there is a guy/moron who posted on OU's rivals and scout i think as CrimsonKing who some of the OU people here thought was me.
i don't mind being an idiot, but i do like to craft it on my own.

like i say Indy, i thought ATM had a real chance in 03,04,05 to take a BIG STEP up with Mack kind of wearing the "can't win a big game" moniker in Texas and the big league hire of Fran....but the 05 NC really drove ATM into a notch below OU and UT in the south for the time being at least. and cemented UT as "the team" in Texas. that was a missed opportunity IMO.

Yeah...fuck Football Jesus for getting Mack over the hump. Even good coaches will eventually come back down to earth. I was not 100% on board with the Slocum firing, but I was excited about the Fran hire. We dropped the ball there...literally too many times.
easy to say now, but i never really understood the Sherman hire. If i was an Ag, i can't say i would have been thrilled for the money being spent.
he may build a great program but how is he getting this job? an 8-8/9-7 NFL coach? His name is not turning up in other coaching searches to my knowledge.
i think the Kines hire was a good one...however.

From my neighbor and former Aggie SS under Jackie, Sherman is just keeping the seat warm for Kubiak who will take over the Aggie job when he is fired from the Texans at the end of the '09 season.
FYI my wife would be happy with that too, but I don't know why that would be a good hire for ATM. Sure it is a guy familiar with the program etc, but he is a pro guy and not all that familiar with the college recruiting game. Not saying he couldn't do it, but the best college guys seem to be those who work their way up thru the college ranks, not pro guys stepping down the the college level.

I'd rather get upstart smaller program coaches than has-beens/never-weres retreads from the NFL. Our fucking fanbase is so obsessed with "big names" rather than taking the risk on a coach from a smaller school. I hope Sherman works out...but my hopes aren't high.
