rack thursdays CFB
they loaded it up with 3 games, and all 3 games came down to the wire
2 teams kicked FG's with less than 3 tics left to win, another held on to win by 6.
rack utes for good win, they played horrible in 2nd half, and still found a way to win it in the end.

Mike Riley at his finest. He's the guy that allowed his team to choke away that win over LSU as well.
He mysteriously comes up with periodic wins out of nowhere but then you have head-scratching losses as follow up.
Anyways, Rack this CAL student.... Don't fuck with a Bear.

kicker fucked them
that missed xp, they chased it and it ended up costing them. Utah would of been done, instead they stayed within 8.

I would have preferred a Pitt loss, but damn - I have to agree, Thursdays are becoming pretty epic of late.

Epic for some maybe, but I am beginning to dislike Thursday games.
I was hopeful that we had turned the corner and learned from last year, but the same mistakes came back and killed us last night. Terrible penalties, poor tackling, and bad special teams are pretty much a recipe for disaster. Props to Wanny and his team. They were the better team last night and they deserved to win the game.

The #10 ranking was due to the win over Kansas. We played crappy in wins over UCF and FIU and played real well last week at NC State. I was hoping that play would carry over, but it's the same thing I've seen over and over for the past handful of seasons or so. Such undisciplined football.

Again, we had a quality win over Kansas. I am not saying we should have been top 10, but what have BYU and Texas Tech done?Mississippi Neck wrote:Yea, wtf with USF at #10? Please.

The polls shouldn't come out until mid to late October.

Based on resume, USF was indeed deserving of their ranking. If anything, you could argue they were too low. There were teams ahead of them that had indentical records, but had beaten nobody.Jsc810 wrote:USF as the #10 team in the country?? That didn't make sense to me.
They played poorly yesterday and lost. It happens...even in the SEC. Shocking, I know.
You openly admit to only knowing 2 or 3 guys on your own freaking team. Seriously, just stop talking CFB.

Huh, and here I thought the SEC prides itself on how much more seriously they take their CFB than everybody else.
Make up your minds already.

It's a smack board, dude. Don't take this shit so seriously.Jsc810 wrote:Let's not get caught up in semantics. Sure, we're crazy about football here, and as I've explained before, part of the reason for that is that we don't have as many other options. At the LSU stadium, for example, you will see RVs and tents going up on Wednesday and Thursday for tailgating on Saturday. Given the other things to do in Los Angeles, it would surprise me to see that happening there.
Some guys seem to have a knack for all the details of sport, perhaps baseball has the most of that sort, guys who can tell you the batting average of a player against left handed pitching with men in scoring position. I'm not one of those types, but yeah, we have them here too.
