For the rest of us OU vs Tejas

Post by Adelpiero »

no reason to ruin a good thread, so lets see others opinions

i like OU, too good on offensive side of the ball, should be a good test for their defense. And if Mccoy tries to make those big plays running the ball, OU will wait and try to kill him. I like Colts instinct to help and make the big play, but a QB leaving himself for the big hit is a bad thing vs a good defense. I think this game tells us more about Tejas, and next week gives us a good look at Mizzou(at austin). 2 more weeks of prove your rankings. (uf vs lsu is another prove yourself also)

OU 27
Tejas 13

Texas 23
OU 17

Texas misses extra point, but picks off Bradford in the end zone with less than 4 minutes left. And the RB by committee of Texas shows up big in the 4th to milk the clock.

Both teams have great passing games and a lot of speed on defense. Both can be great at stopping the run.

Two keys to this game, imo:

Texas' pass defense and OU's special teams.

On paper, Bradford should be able dice Texas' relatively young secondary for a couple of big plays. If he's off, however ... yikes.

If OU's special teams play like they have at times ('sup Cincy), it could mean turnovers and points for Texas.

This is the kind of game where a big play on special teams or a key interception could be a big turning point in momentum and the game.

27-17 -- OU, barring any special teams fuckups by the Sooners.

i think the key for UT is to prevent the big play for OU and make Bradford and Co. drive the field. Much like the 03 offense with the Drew Tate wanna be Jason White, OU hasn't had to drive the field too much courtesy of long scoring plays. UT contains OU's big play capability and it's a ballgame.

McCoy can hurt OU on the scramble and Venables D's have been exposed at times by a QB who can convert 3rd downs on the ground.

I expect OU to struggle running the ball, some. So, Bradford will have to pick up the slack. For all the talk about UT's inability to run it, they did OK against Colorado who is decent against the run. I think that aspect is being overplayed a little. but, if OU can make UT one-dimensional it could be a long day for McCoy.

no prediction.

puss.

It helps Mizzou's cause in some roundabout way should Tejas win this game, and even though I really don't give a flying adel, I shall go with the Longhorns 31-23.

This game actually reminds me of an NFL playoff game many years ago between Dallas and Philly. This Cowboy honk at work was so certain da' boys would win... I told him that Philly was too BIG for Dallas. The Eagles dominated, start to finish.

Texas is too BIG for Oklahoma this year.

i've seen too many of these games to predict. most y'all only remember the last 6-8 years. i've watched this game for about 34 years straight.

what the fuck does this mean? did they get a lot bigger since last year? nice NFL analogy, i'll be sure rewrite my own experience with this game with that nugget of complete nonsense.

and since you usher in that "analogy" under the guise of overconfidence (from a Texas team, no less)...why not illuminate the rest of us what in the flying June Cleaver's snatch that has to do with me not making a predic? hard to be overconfident if you don't make a pick?

Woah down boy before in haste you have to edit that again. It's called stirring the pot, much like adels call that Wisky will beat PSU. If done well, no harm, no foul.

But sheesh, you ARE an OU honk, are you not? I expect... no, I demand some hysterical myopia... or at least make a freaking prediction... you easily offended pussy.

maybe the "ridiculous assertion" style works over on the bleeding vag board, but show me where i "honk" for OU in this thread.

show me where there's "hysterical" OU honking.

maybe i forgot that BIG TIME POWER COLLEGE FOOTBALL began with the Mayan Calendar last year when Missouri was somewhat relevant or BIGGER than most of the teams they played.

I wish I could, I wish you would... it's a lot more fun that way.

You pathetic gimps on this BIG TIME POWER CFB board are sometimes afraid of your own damn shadow... it's like your more concerned about how your equanamity is perceived, rather than just talking junk.

I'm here to talk junk, not disect the vagaries of a 4-3 defense vs. the cover 2... but to each their own.

I'll now return you to your regular scheduled "if we turn the ball over less than the other team, control the line of scrimmage, and get good special teams play, we just might win... but no prediction" thread.

when your team wins a lot and contends for championships both conference and national...there's not a lot of need to talk inflammatory "junk".

you expect to win. but, you also acknowledge rivalries.

lick junk is more your style.

i know it's weird for you, and i know a lot of Bronco fans who struggle with it too, but AFC West dick-waggling is not a metaphor for sports or competition.

Especially when you've got about 6 different teams to bandwagon, eh?
you also acknowledge rivalries.
No shit. Brilliant deduction, proffesor.
lick junk is more your style.
Nah... gently kicking overbearing, presumptious twats right in the gash is more my style.

Now make a fucking prediction, or shut your gaping hole.
