So did the raiders play Sunday against the Saints

Post by Mister Bushice »

or did they just get the 3 points for signing their names saying they would?

Nice move by alcula, whatever it was.

Anybody know who will be the raider coach next week?

A loss at home to the Jets next week and Cable will be in SERIOUS danger of losing the team and the season.

May as well start an '09 draft thread at that point ... if Raider Nation still gives a fucking shit.

I fear that Cable is in WAY over his head as an NFL head coach, and our current team has no leadership and no identity.
Perhaps we can see now why Kiffin was so uber-conservative with his playcalling?
If the Silver and Black is down by more than one score, it's pretty much game over.

The two teams who have given Oakland serious beatdowns (Dungver and Nawlins) both have high-powered passing attacks.
Draw your own conclusions.

Offensively, the 'duds show NO creativity at all.
Russell isn't getting it done and we don't show any inclination at all to find ways to get the ball to our one real playmaker (McFadden) in the open field.
We keep hearing about what a terrific receiver McFadden is, and yet we see NO effort at all to use him that way.

Is the playbook dumbed down because our big qb just ain't got much between the ears?

Maybe.

It sure as shit looks vanilla as hell to me.

Russell is, at this point, too slow on the trigger.
He's not crisp at all in his decision-making and he's holding the ball too long in the pocket.
He looks very much like a turnover waiting to happen ... and sometimes IS.

It's all pretty disturbing.

I've been patient with the big guy, because he's young and he's raw, BUT, it's time for him to start showing a little something more than he has.

All of that said, I think they'll play hard, lead the Jets after 3 quarters next week, only to give up 21 unanswered in the 4th to snatch a blowout defeat from the jaws of victory.

...the only situation worse than the Raiduh's at this point would be the Kansas City Chief's...my gawd what a freeking mess. You mofo's can bag all day on LT, but he can't hold a candle to LJ's whinning, and what up with Gonzo throwing a tantrum because they wouldn't throw him a ball to break some record?

Russell and McFadden will be stars IMHO, but you can't expect too much from these youngsters given the chaos that is Raiduhland. The learning curve is brutal in the NFL and adding Alcula to the equation is not a recipe for quick success. Unfortunately, from here it looks like a long road ahead.

Hey but now that the Dodgers are in the NLCS most Raiduhfans have ditched their silver and black for Dodger blue...
