Minus 2 pro bowl caliber defensive linemen and they still made Ben's life a living hell and stuffed Willie Parker with regularity. And, it's been a long time since I've seen anybody run on the Steelers like that either. There's nothing the Steelers can do except give the Titans their due and put that video of those two jagoffs stomping on the Terrible Towel on a continuous loop in the players locker room. Maybe the Titans should ask the 2005 Bengals how well stomping the towel in a regular season game worked out for them.

Steelers' O line is just awful. Hard to see how that is going to get it done in the playoffs.

Certainly if they run into the Titans again, I don't think we'll see a different result from today. They've been able gut out some tough games against teams that can get after the QB. They get the first round bye and oddly enough, they'd be better off facing one of the division winners (Jets or Denver) in the divisional round as opposed to either of the Wild Card teams (Indianapolis or Baltimore).

Understand this. Titans players stomping on the towel provided an easy to use motivational video that you can bet Tomlin will be using to remind his players over and over again just how bad losing feels. If Titan players want to feel like an underdog, then so be it. With a whole lot of luck, that's how they'll be feeling when they get bounced from the playoffs. But until then, they'll just have to accept that, for the time being, they are the team everybody is gearing up for in the AFC.

I have to agree with mvscal. The fact that the Steelers waited until the 4th round to draft any offensive linemen was Matt Millen stupid. They are in danger of turning Ben into damaged goods if they don't get him some protection. I just hope they get busy this off season addressing this problem.

Ben's game is moving around after the pocket breaks down. That's when he is at his best...that's his comfort zone. There's no denying that the OL has taken several steps back from the proficiency of the SB winning 05 team. However, Ben's failure to see targets more rapidly doesn't help. On each play where they use 3-4 WRs, you can see several viable open options, but it seems Ben does not see them. I don't care how good or bad pass protection has been, he doesn't have the time back there that he thinks he has.

I can't speak for players because I am not one. If that kind of thing is what is necessary to motivate someone to play better, then so be it.
