The, uh, . . . ahem, lynch, . . . mob is firing up the torches for poor 'ol Ernesto. Too bad, too. I actually like Ernie and think he's been great for the Ducks over the years.

i kinda like Ernie, too. i liked that Ridnour, Luke Jackson team. what was the name of the post player who could also really play? and a big scandanavian guy? though, as Dins mentioned in another thread he's underproduced with a couple McD's AAs.

Oklahoma was in on the Malik Hairston recruiting process but like so many times before he hit the phones, Kelvin finished 2nd on that one. but i used to check the boxscores for Hairston's numbers.

I like Ernie, too. Unfortunately, I like winning more, and Ernie has lost the support of the AD (and apparently Bellotti the AD-to-be is leaning away from his buddy) and the boosters, so the rumor goes.

They're going to go get Few... I'll just about bet the rent on it.

i liked that Ridnour, Luke Jackson team.
You mean "Freddie Jones' team." (Although the Lukes had a good season after their fearless leader left, too.)

Ridnour was from Washington (also a MickyD's guy, IIRC), pretty much the rest of that team was Oregon boys, which was cool.

Chris Christoffersen? Since I'm assuming you're not talking about Blair Rassmussen. Maarty Leunen just graduated (playing euroball or something).

There was another guy, Ian Crosswhite, who was a big Australian, but Ernie gave him the boot (don't think we ever found out why).
though, as Dins mentioned in another thread he's underproduced with a couple McD's AAs.
That's Ernie for you. Reels 'em in, for 3 years of underachievement. It's kind of his trademark.

Speaking of 3-years-of-sucking-followed-by-a-good-senior-year.

There were all kinds of rumors about recruiting improprieties with Malik. Like Nike getting to him well before he left high school.

Freddie Jones was who i meant. he was a very good CBB player.

He's actually playing extremely well at the point for the Clips right now, or was on a 10 day contract last I saw, anyway.

He was a big star in Portland area HS hoops, and went to Oregon. Naturally, it doesn't matter what uniform he's wearing -- when he plays in Portland, he gets a standing ovation to start, and mad cheers every time he takes a shot.

Freddie is such a likable guy anyway, so the royal treatment is inevitable. When he did his stint with the Blazers, all you ever heard was his name chanted over and over until he got in the game. And then he could chuck an airball from halfcourt, and he still would have gotten a standing O (and probably an even bigger one if he started airing it up against us).

Ridnour and Aaron Brooks get the red carpet treatment, too.

I imagine when Malik starts to make his mark, he'll be a very popular figure in the Rose Quarter (complex where the Rose Garden Arena is).
