Every night when he is at home he (Obama) reads the Harry Potter books to his oldest daughter Malia.

Another band that, imho, is very underrated. This was the first song of this genre I ever heard. I was about six or seven at the time. One of my classmates brought in a 45 (yeah, I know I'm dating myself with that reference) and surprisingly (after all, this was a Catholic school) the teacher let him play it. It blew me away, was nothing like anything I had heard until that time. I had no older siblings, and I knew this was drastically different from what my parents listened to (years later, it blew my mind when I found out that Jon Lord was only about three years younger than my parents).

My favorite Deep Purple track, for no particular reason.

Not recorded by the Mk II lineup, but I've been known to sing this one at karaoke on occasion.

Title track from the comeback album recorded by the Mk II lineup. Unlike Aerosmith a few years later, it actually was good to hear from them again.

I remember going to a Blue Jays game a few years back when each player had a song that introduced their turn at bat. Ed Sprague was in the starting lineup that day, and he used this song, also from the Perfect Strangers album. Only song I recognized, except for "Gangster's Paradise" (used by Shannon Stewart), only because of its inclusion in the movie "Dangerous Minds" and the multitude of parodies it had inspired.

It's a shame that Ian Gillen and Ritchie Blackmore couldn't stand each other. What might have been, otherwise.
