Re: The Jake Heaps... Sweepstakes
Fuck you guys, the worst and most outrageous parents I have seen in youth sports were at the USSSA Elite World Series and supporting the Houston Banditos and the Central Texas Raiders, I saw drunken parents of Raiders players being escorted off of Disneys premises after they had lost a game and if you want to see asshole parents to the extreme, watch the Florida teams in the Pop Warner Bowls on TV someday.
My teams may train harder than most others and beat your team by as wide a margin as possible but they wont be loud and obnoxious about it. This morning they won 19-1, did the good game hand shake and their wasnt a peep of cheering in the other teams face after the game, just business. Goes with the team moto, "Scoreboards are Louder than Words"

You obviously know NOTHING about California.Left Seater wrote:You can keep your California folkways and your sick parent pushing his own wishes crap. We have all heard about the Cali parent. SoCal paints a vivid picture of it all too well. No thanks, we do much better here.
No, you obviously missed the point. Let me help ya out here, again. You'll notice I'm repeating myself for your benefit.Left Seater wrote:But overall you missed the point, but that is hardly surprising. If the dad was so proud of his days at Cal and his school, his kid would have been in Cal gear from the moment he was born.

Hey, .m2blueblood,
Idiot. I know where both Gilbert's were raised. My reading comp is fine. Clearly you are the one with issues.
And before you go off and claim this is crazy, it happens all the time. One happens to be a neighbor of mine. He and his wife and 4 year old kid go to every Wisconsin game in Madison and usually one away game. Their kid is always wearing Wisconsin gear and talks all about the Badgers. Mike doesn't say that his kid has to go to Wisconsin, hell they have never mentioned anything about it, but the kid talks about where he is going to college all the time.
See, without pressuring the kid at all, they grow up with a love for the parents school.
Idiot. I know where both Gilbert's were raised. My reading comp is fine. Clearly you are the one with issues.
Smart guy. It is called an airplane. I know Cal is afraid of them, but most of the rest of the country uses them on a daily basis. From Austin there are all kinds of ways to get to the Bay Area. American Airlines flies non-stop from Austin to San Jose multiple times a day. United flies non-stop to SFO multiple times a day. Southwest flies a same plane one stop to Oakland multiple times a day. Hell, for an afternoon game at Cal, someone in Austin doesn't even have to spend the night. They can take the morning flight out and the night flight home. How the fuck is the kid going to make EVERY Cal home game growing up in Tejas ?????

Bwahaa!
Seriously thought... Let's not forget Colorado pageant moms who allow little queens to be sexually abused and then murdered and subsequently cover it up.
Tejas, Cali, Colorado.....fucked up moms who should be behind bars for exploiting their children can be found all over this country. Shit, the whole world. Let's not forget Southeast Asia and the children being sold into sexual slavery everyday.
Re: The Jake Heaps... Sweepstakes
Jonbenet may have been killed in Colorado but that family was southern, the girl was probably born in Georgia or Alabama or something. People from west of Texas dont whore their kids off in to pageants like that, here those ass-wads try to stick their kids in commercials

Toodles . . . eject. This isn't going well for you.
Gale Gilbert's NFL career ended in 1995. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/p ... lbGa00.htm His kid would've been all of 4 years old at the time.
By my count, that leaves plenty of time to fly the kid out to Cal games later on.

.mblueblood,
As has already been pointed out the younger Gilbert was 4 when his dad stopped playing. Plenty of time to see Cal games in person.
And since you are so afraid of planes it is understandable that you would have no understanding of flight times. Flight time from Austin to SJC going against the jetstream is just under 4 hours. The return flight is scheduled for 3 hrs 15 mins, but is often under 3 hours.
This is all secondary to the fact that you have yet to accept the challenge thrown out by the alleged unhealthy fat guy.

That's nice.
But you and the military state known as Colorado... aren't "the truth".
One of the top quarterbacks in the nation will be Austin Hinder (Steamboat Springs, Colo.). Hinder has offers from schools all over the country but his favorite list has a definite West Coast feel to it.
"I'm hoping to attend as many team camps as I can but don't have a set schedule yet. I know I'm going to the NIKE Camp at Stanford and the Elite 11 regional camp at Cal and those are probably my top two schools right now.
Academically, Hinder is carrying a 3.7 GPA and said he would like to major in engineering or law.

Re: The Jake Heaps... Sweepstakes
from your own holy ESPN article:
"I'm hearing from just about every school in the country right now," Hinder said. "I have offers from Cal, Stanford, Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado, Colorado State, Nebraska, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Purdue and a few others.
"I'm hoping to attend as many team camps as I can but don't have a set schedule yet. I know I'm going to the NIKE Camp at Stanford and the Elite 11 regional camp at Cal and those are probably my top two schools right now.
"I also like Colorado, UCLA, Penn State, Notre Dame and a few others. Location and academics are important to me as well as a coaching staff that I'm comfortable with."
what's your point, other than having a pin shaped head? this is conclusive of your claim he's a Cal lock?

Other than "inside" info known only to "the truth" and a few others.... yeah.
This is the "first time" he's gone public with the info.
Look for Cal to lock him up by the summer.

the link proves nothing. It says Hinder has offers from a list of schools and he has a top two: Cal and Stanford. and a list of schools he "also" likes. he plans to take visits.
you say he's a lock for Cal--he may be, that's not my point. If anything, the link proves the opposite of what you say.
but nonsense is your dominant mode of argumentation; so, it's probably my fault for wasting my own time.

Yeah Heaps can pretty well expect that his schollie offer will be pulled by OU shortly. That's the four on scholly QBs that Stoops wants and we'll go ater another in next years class.Believe the Heupel wrote:Also according to Rivals, Oklahoma just got a commitment from the #1 QB recruit in the country. Gotta say "WOW" when it comes to our QB recruiting the last few years. Next season we'll have three guys competing from Bradford's spot (assuming that he leaves) that were top 10 QBs in the respective classes. OU is quickly garnering a reputation as a school that develops QBs and puts up big time passing numbers.

Re: The Jake Heaps... Sweepstakes
WURD!!! My father and I it did numerous times when I was in high school in both North Carolina and Tejas. I don't even want to attempt to count how many times I showered up and rolled out straight to the airport from games or events, especially football, to barely make a flight. North Carolina was the worst; being beat to hell trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in while avoiding strawberries in that small ass Accura only to get to crash for, if we were lucky, a couple of hours in a Raleigh hotel to catch a flight to OKC and rush to the OU game. By the time I finally saw my bed for a few hours on Sunday nights I was feeling like my limbs were barely attached still and amazed that they were. The games weren't all that worth it at that time in OU football either...Left Seater wrote:Hey, .m2blueblood,
