NCAA Football 10. EA sports.

Post by Moby Dick »

for those of you who have been playing the franchise for a while now..this year's game looks SICK.

with Integrity being part of online play now..and earning skill points for being good (and not just picking the same hail mary or same run play over and over) this year's game really looks to be the best.

Erin Andrews in the game doesnt make it too bad either

a link to videos on the upcoming game

*edit

being able to re-arrange conferences, as well as the improvements to online dynasties will definatly have me cracked out on this game for a few weeks this summer!

Looks pretty sick. I have to break down and buy a PS3 one of these days.

I'm not holding my breath. Last year's game got old pretty quickly. The offensive playbooks were severely lacking (outside of the shotgun spread option books like Florida's). There were no under-center WR reverses or wingback handoffs (GT and Navy). No slot screens. And, as usual, people could still be relatively successful by simply picking a team with a fast QB and scrambling around in the backfield, waiting for coverage to break down.

This will be the 3rd full year that EA has been developing the game for next-gen systems (not counting the rushed edition of 07 they put out for Xbox 360), and there are still major gameplay flaws that need fixing. I'll still be one of the dorks lined up at midnight in the 24-hour Wal-Mart, but I'm not expecting much. Hopefully EA proves me wrong...

What I like are the year-by-year graphic enhancements to the stadiums, fields, players, fans in the stands, etc. Everything used to be so generic, but they fine tune all of that with each edition. Before, even in some of the recent editions, the fans were just blotchy images of color, now you can actually see them standing up, cheering after scores. It just adds to the overall realistic feel of the game. I know, I know that's just the result of technology in general getting more sophisticated, but it's good EA endeavors to tweak the nuances that CFB dorks like myself appreciate. But of course they really need to focus on making the game play better. It seems the difficulty of passing/running goes back and forth every release. People complain that passing is too hard, so they make it too easy...they complain it's too easy, and then they make it too hard, etc. Rarely a fine balance.

This game is the sole reason I ever owned the PS gaming consoles. Beyond this game, and a couple others, I'm just not into video games. I don't have a PS3, but will consider it just to continue buying this series.

You probably have to be an NCAA geek to appreciate the subtleties of this, but this is so fucking spot-on...

The demo is out. It's hard to make any real judgements when you're playing 2-minute quarters with two of the most loaded teams on the game (OU & UF) but it seems to be better so far. They defensive pursuit angles are definitely improved and I like that the receiver icons fade and eventually disappear based on how far back you drop.

very nice.

i probably wont be getting the game when it drops. Due to my Xbox having 3 red lights of "fuck you" when i turn it on.

i guess i'm lucky, it was one of the original 360s that were made and i'm just NOW having problems with it. Microsoft is pretty cool tho...fixing it for free when i get around to sending it off.

I haven't bought a video game in a long time. I have an XBox360 but I don't think it's even still hooked up. Used to buy the new Madden and NCAA Football games every year but they started getting old. Partially because I started getting older but mostly because they never really changed. They were always basically the same with a few minor updates. When I do play, I usually just simulate seasons and do the recruiting stuff. I never have enough time to play a full season, so it's better this way. I actually somewhat enjoy that. Maybe in 2015 I will buy another one, and maybe it will actually be different than the 2007 game I have. Probably not, though.
