Tell me your favorite arcade games from back in the day
Save your Donkey Kong and Pac-Man takes, I'm not reading them.
I got MAME back on my new computer and I'm reliving those golry days when my scaly knuckles were pumping quarter after quarter into arcade games. I've been spending a lot of time playing NBA Jam TE, which drives me nuts because it's hard to consistently beat the computer. I also have 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge, which is fun, but I'm obsessed with NBA Jam right now. If anyone can find me a working rom for NFL Blitz, that would be fantastic.
I also have:
Double Dragon
DD II
Street Fighter (the original)
SF II
SF II CE
SF II Turbo
Mortal Kombat
MK II
WWF WrestleFest

There was a submarine battle sims game back in the 90's called "Red Storm Rising." Meager graphics but it was nice strategy. One could spend the entire evening with it.

Why not? You fucking asked for "favorite arcade games back in the day" but you don't want to read about some of them? Oh, only if it was back in your day, huh?Screw_Michigan wrote:Save your Donkey Kong and Pac-Man takes, I'm not reading them.

Never cared much at all for the electronic games. About the only one I played was this one:

Now pinball is my game ! The one I loved was this one:

Hearts and Spades by Gottlieb---could play all night for a dime ! Could explain why those machines did not stay around too long. I was in pinball heaven out in the state of Washington where they had legalized gambling on them. Would ride those suckers all night for beer money, even if it was Ranier or 'Oly"--sup Dinsdale ?

This game used to drive me freaking nutz, back in the day.

Re: Tell me your favorite arcade games from back in the day
You read my fucking mind. I deliberately excluded those games because I knew it would bunch your panties and since a simple-minded tard like you would find favor in Donkey Kong and Pac Man, it would prevent you from participating.War Wagon wrote:Why not? How'd that prevent me from participating thing work out for you, btw?

I guess my "day" was some time before yours was (I can remember the first Pong machines in Silicon Valley - before it was Silicon Valley, which was where I lived).
That being said...

The Sega Fishing game was pretty bad ass, that is a somewhat recent game.
I went to Vegas in 98 with family when I was 16. Of course, can't gamble, but to fill the time, Vegas had THE greatest arcades in the country. All the games I ever wanted to play.

The USA vs. USSR version of this, the one with the "boo" button:

Defender.
We used to have the arcade sized one in our family room.
I think my mom bought it off some meth-head for like, $40 or something.
