Kickoff is -- cue the shower-scene music from "Psycho" -- noon EST!
Yep, that's 9 a.m. PDT.
Refresh my memory about the first three quarters of the Bears' a.m. visit to Maryland last year.
"A Renfair douche should NEVER offer up opinions involving BIG TIME POWER CFB, since FeKal doesn't play BIG TIME POWER anything. I apologize to the entire BTPCFB Forum for my feeble commentary."
A bunch of Cal students will be traveling to Minneapolis????
I don't blame m2ool for being worried about this game. Do you have any idea how many gay bars there are in Minneapolis??? Shit, the Cal football team will probably be out drinking and fucking guys in the ass all night. This is not fair at all. There's no way they're going to win this game. They'll be hung over and sore. At least play this game at night.
I'm calling my bookie right now and throwing at least a grand on Minnesota to cover the spread.
Why not play the game at 7 am.... Pacific time ???
Hell, 4 am.... is only a few hours earlier...
Fuck ESPN to hell !!!
the truth

Anyone with half a brain knew this game would be at noon eastern. Every Big11 game as at noon eastern on the family of networks. Only way to not play at that time is to get the prime time slot on ABC. Clearly Cal doesn't rate there so it is at noon.
Sad that no one involved in the Cal program could figure that out.

Look, just leave after class on Thursday. It's a 4 hour flight or thereabouts.....Friday get used to the time change which is 2 hours, get your ass up on Saturday and go play the fucking game. If you want to complain about it then don't fucking play. Just give Minnesota the win, save on travel costs and move on to the next week.
Or even better -- if time zones and travel arrangements are such a logistical nightmare for the Cal athletic department...just don't schedule the game?

For the record, a mere two hour time difference simply isn't even worth discussing. Unless Cal doesn't leave SF International until late Friday night, which would be absolutely stupid of them, this is a non issue.
Hell yes it's an issue because M200l is going to make it an issue once the game is over and Cal ends up on the losing end.......an endless supply of excuses
The best part about last season's Terp Beatdown was the fat that 2oolio wasn't even awake himself when it started...the thread here was at least a page deep before he got the fuck out of bed to watch "his" team...

sorry, cal at minnesota? you guys are preparing yourselves for the time zone/travelocity excuses when you should actually be anticipating all the mnc talk that will follow the beat down of a "premier bcs team on the road." you think jet gay blew up on stanford and the entire state of washington? minnesota has 85 players on scholarship, all of which play offense. cal will win this one 143 - 16.

Minnesota is historically one of the best teams in the Big 10 if you don't count the 5 or 6 teams that have been better. a statement game for Cal on it's way to an unblemished record.

They regularly have Big 11 games on ABC locally and ESPN2 nationally at 3:30p. The WMU/scU-M game is at 3:30 opening weekend.
2oolio has a point, but obviously any eastern team hosting a west coast team is going to have that game at noon. See: Hawaii at Florida.
Not always true. Iowa played Arizona State in 2003 at home and that was the ESPN night game. Arizona State got destroyed in that game, by the way. And if I'm not mistaken, Arizona's trip to Iowa City this year is a night game. I'm not certain on that but I believe I saw that.

It would be like Cal to use SFO for their charters. Meanwhile every other school would use Oakland. Besides being closer, it is about a third the cost of SFO.

^^^^^^^^^^
What Van said.
The game kicks off at 11 a.m. local. The Gophers gotta get outta bed early too...
