Believe it or not, I'm gettin' married tomorrow.

Congrats on your second long stint, Roach.Roach wrote:Well you are prolly gonna behave like a rabbit, mink, and rooster too!Mikey wrote:Believe it or not, I'm gettin' married tomorrow.
Congrats Mikey. Don't know your situation, But I am divorced from first wife of 17 yrs, and remarried 11 years ago. Still holding strong and no regrets, wish you the same.
Got some Levitra stashed?
Tomorrow is our 22nd anniversary actually. But we never got married in the Church, which we will be doing tomorrow. Son and daughter are best man and bridesmaid.
Still haven't had a need for any Levitra, thankfully.
Sunday morning we will be heading out for one of the most awesome brunches available on God's green earth:

I may try to sample at least a bite of everything there, but that may be impossible. Definitely will have to take the pants with elastic waist.

Same shit as most weekends. Yardwork. Cleaning up shit. Swimming in the pool with the kids. Beer. BBQ.

So, I am not as hungover as I thought I would be. I went to Beef O' Bradys, drank some beer then headed to BW-3. Now I am at work now and Hooters is shortly approaching.......

Congrats, mikey. I trust the jacuzzi will get all jizzed up tonight.Mikey wrote:Thanks. If you're feeling generous we're registered at Nieman Marcus and Newport Beach Porsche.JMak wrote:Congrats!Mikey wrote:Believe it or not, I'm gettin' married tomorrow.
And, I do feel generous, but, I also feel pretty damn poor right about now. Maybe I'll go wring some equity out of the casa......or not. That fuggen thing will get paid off by the end of the next republican president's first term, which should be in about 7+ years.
As for me, went for what should have been a 10 mile bike ride. Hooked up with some other cyclist dude along the way (save it, assholes) and ended up doing 30. Rack me and my burnt out quads. Got home and replentished all those calories I smoked with a bowl of rocky road, then went out side and wrestled with some forsythia bushes the OL wants dead.
Tomorrow-work :x

I understand it is real pretty. :)
Huge props to Roach and Mikey.

Sunday Brunch Report
To celebrate our anniversary we took the kids with us for Sunday Brunch at La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla.
Had a nice table on the Ocean View Terrace, looking down with a great view of La Jolla Cove. The morning overcast was just clearing when we sat down at about 11:45 a.m. and the rest of the time we were there it was a comfortable and sunny 72 degrees or so.
When we sat down we immediately were served with fresh squeezed orange juice, mimosas, coffee and water. The brunch is a buffet with a huge choice of items. My goal was to sample as many things as possible, taking small servings and avoiding the traditional breakfast stuff that I sometimes fix myself, like eggs benedict, omelettes, etc.
My first trip to the buffet produced (I'm doing this from memory so I may miss a few things):
Blue point oysters on the half shell
King crab legs and claws
Jumbo shrimp
Tuna shushi rolls
Mixed cold grilled veggie antipasto
Artichoke hearts (the fancy Italian kind with the stems still on)
Mixed mesclun green salad
Fresh strawberries
Second trip:
Paella Valencia, with clams, mussels, scallops, sausage and a great saffron rice
Mahi mahi baked in some kind of tomato reduction
More of the veggie antipasto and artichoke hearts
Some other kind of cold antipasto that I couldn't identify but it was really good
Golden beets
Tomato slice with buffalo mozzarella
Eggs benedict (OK I couldn't help myself but I only had one)
Breasfast sausage
Bacon
Home fried potatoes
Third trip:
Prime rib
1/4 of a bagel spread with cream cheese and piled with smoked Nova Scotia Salmon
A slice of brie with some crackers
Fourth trip:
Tiramisu
Some kind of double fudge chocolate brownie
Creme Brulee
A chunk of pound cake and a strawberry dipped in the chocolate fountain
Hagen Daz vanilla ice cream
Coffee
Believe it or not, I missed probably 1/3 of the items, like the linguine with clams and mussels in the shell, roast pork, roast lamb, a few other pasta dishes, cheese blintzes, the omelette station, assorted cheeses and cold cuts, etc.
Yes, it was an epicurean orgy for the ages.

Yeah, it probably set me back a day or two. But, damn, it was worth it.
