"Mt. Tam" is a molehill. It's a mountain like Cal is a threat to win the national title.

I gotta wonder though, why did they build the stands higher in the end zones than in the middle of the field? They should've had the whole thing be the same height as the end zones.

there is no circumstance on planet Earth where i don't pull for Oklahoma to bury Colorado....but Folsom Field is pretty cool.

i had season tix as a grad student from about 98 to 02. good times, and back then CU gave grad/senior/law tix in section 117 on about the 40 yard line, 30 rows up for about 45$ a season tick.

From the east rim... You can see San Francisco, the Golden Gate, Mt. Tam, and the Pacific Ocean.

You should see it when the sun is setting during an early evening game.

Now back to Jet Blue....

First day of Fall practice.

He looks absolutely HUGE in this video. They said he put on around 15 pounds of muscle and it shows. The guy is going to be a monster this year.

If you look at the pic from the mountain to the empty stadium it looks like they added seats to what was initially one height going around. I am assuming the the press box/suites were already there and they couldn't add seats there.

It was built in the early 1920's and has basically kept it's same integrity/charm for close to 100 years.

Psst... "Old School" may not be what you're all about... but, at the time it was known as one of the most beautiful stadiums in College Football. The half a billion $ in upgrades are coming without fucking with the structure itself.

You'll find that very few here on the College Football board know much more than their own team or conference. This leads to mass confusion in their brains and they lash out with indisputable irreverence.

Btw, it appears that all the heterosexual Kal fans sit in the corner endzone sections.

I haven't been to that stadium, but just looking at photos it looks like a very lame atmosphere. Looks too laid back for me. When I go to a football game, I don't care about background scenery. I want to be in a stadium where the fans are right on top of the action. That is definitely no SEC-Big-10 stadium for sure. That looks like an NFL atmosphere without the sweet stadium.

Now I know why Cal isn't ever any good. The atmosphere there is lame as shit. Sorry m2, but it is what it is!

Sorry but the Cal one just doesn't stack up with the rest. Looks to be a very pedestrian atmosphere to me. Also, what's up with everyone in the stands wearing a different color shirt? I like how EVERYONE behind the near endzone has anything BUT a California shirt on. How fucking gay!

What is the overall respect pecking order in the Pac 10?

I'm not a Pac 10 guru (well - I live 3,000 miles away and don't really give a fuck), but I'd say since I've been watching college football since around 1970, I'd say it'd be:

1. USC
2. UCLA
3. Arizona State
4. Washington
5. Oregon
6. Oregon State
7. Arizona
8. Cal
9. Washington St.
10. Stanford

Does that sound about right? Now I know that Cal is "supposed" to be a little better (though that's a broken record through the last few years), but this is simply a respect level of the teams there over the last 40 years. I'm not really trying to bash Milton here, either, it's just that Cal has had a lot of shit teams....

This is the EXACT reason why all of the PAC 10 fans laugh at you in the south and the Midwest.

Since 2002 when Tedford got here... Cal has the second most wins of any PAC 10 team, behind $C.

While every year the tards on the east coast pick Oregon as the team to beat.

Cal has dominated Oregon, beating them 4 out of the last 5 years... and putting some serious beat downs on them.

'Spray, like you said, obviously it depends on what time period you wish to use, in terms of determining respect within the conference. Make it an all time list and it'll look vastly different than it's looked over the past decade, when we've seen some of the doormats rise and some of the stalwarts fall.

Make it since 1970, which is the time frame you used? Keep in mind, in 1970 it was still the Pac 8. The Arizona schools didn't join until 1978.

I'd say that since 1970 it would look something like this...

1. USC

2. Washington: A national title, a lot of Rose Bowls, and they were sometimes dominant during the Don James era.

3. UCLA: Pretty damn good during the Dick Vermeil and Terry Donahue eras. Decent amount of Rose Bowls. Usually at least good, never great, but often very good. The Duhrell era is an aberration.

4. Arizona St: Like Arizona, they haven't always been part of the conference, and they've never won a Rose Bowl, but they've at least been to one and they're usually decent to good.

5. Stanford: Two Rose Bowl wins, John Elway, a Heisman with Jim Plunkett, and some really scrappy teams in the '70s and '80s. They've also handed USC their only two losses in the Coliseum since USC got rolling again.

6. Washington St: Very up and down program, but their ups have been higher than those of any of the teams below them on this list.

7. Cal: Occasional scrappy teams, but they join Oregon St as being the only two members from the original Pac 8 to never see a Rose Bowl during these past forty years. Oregon St's at least won a BCS bowl game, while Cal's never been to one. They've simply never done anything, but they've usually not been the conference doormat either.

8. Oregon: Nice current decade, but still not all that much to write home about, and they didn't do fuckall during the previous thirty years. Take away Nike and Dan Fouts and they're a muddy duck pond.

9. Oregon St: For many years they were among the worst teams in all of D1. Take away this current decade and they're one of college football's perennial doormats.

10. Arizona: Wasn't in the Pac 10 for some of that period, and they've never been to a Rose Bowl since joining the conference. They've done even less than Oregon St. Not much difference between Arizona and Cal, really. Neither team has even made a dent in the conference, much less nationally.
