Patrick Swayze Dead.
The Reaper must be in a contract year.
Re: Patrick Swayze Dead.
Roadhouse and Red Dawn were good. Just read his obit and apparently Dirty Dancing was more sophisticated than Grease.
Re: Patrick Swayze Dead.
Who knew the sequel would be "Dirt Dancing" so soon.
Seriously the guy seemed like a class act somewhat of an authentic tough guy and a righteous dude. Hopefully this news will eclipse the tripe coming from the entertainment sector today about Kanye boning some chick Taylor.

His absence will leave a ig gaping void, butI'm sure his death was the best thing in the end.

Do you think Kanye West will show up to Patrick's funeral and interrupt the eulogy and say "Mr. Dirty Dancing Man was good, but Michael Jackson had the best death ever."

"You have pancreatic cancer"
4 fukking words I don't ever need to hear.
That shit is the michael jordan of cancer.
Has anybody ever beat that shit? Even that dude from apple who has the jack to get a full body MRI every week is in the process of getting his ass kicked by it.

Pancreatic cancer, properly diagnosed, is the quickest death sentence going. I'm surprised Swayze held out as long as he did.smackaholic wrote:"You have pancreatic cancer"

A few years ago my stomach felt like it was on fire, so I went to the doctor. Mind you, I seldom go to a doctor for anything less than a broken bone or severed artery (just doing my part to keep Jimmy Meds healthcare costs down), but this was bad. Really bad.
The diagnosis? Pancreatitis. Not cancer, but just an inflammation or some shit. I didn't even know what the fuck a pancreas was good for, I always thought it'd be my liver raising hell first at my unhealthy habits.
Nope.

Pancreatic cancer took my mom in 6 months. Granted she spent the last month in a haze of morphine, but that shit is just nasty. Of course the dumbfuck doctors misdiagnosed it for about a year before that.

The doc's incompetence in missing a disease which pretty much bats 1.000 was probably a blessing. If I ever get such a wretched disease, I'd just as soon not know the severity of it till close to the end just to give me time enough to say bye.Mikey wrote:My mom lasted probably three months at the most after it was diagnosed.DallasFanatic wrote: Pancreatic cancer took my mom in 6 months. Has anyone ever figured out a cause?
I know it is partially genetic and most certainly second hand smoke has a hand in it.

Hopefully it's not genetic.
She was a Repbulican, and I'm thinking maybe that had something to do with it.

Et tu, Holice'?
I guess the lying left got to you, as well.
Why don't you go ahead and link up some sort of study/research/anything you want* that shows any link whatsoever between secondhand smoke and... anything.
* - Bear in mind, the EPA "study" is a complete farce, isn't allowed to be used as evidence in court, and has been disavowed by the people who actually wrote it, since what the study showed and what Big Brother wanted you to hear were two completely different things, so they erred on the side of complete fabrication, and did some really clever statistical manipulation.
Matter of fact, real studies have shown secondhand smoke appears to pose no health risk to anyone whatsoever... but Big Brother needs his hobbies, so "they" try and tell you otherwise, and even have the gall to base legislation on a "danger" that doesn't exist, never has existed, and not one scrap of evidence has ever shown even a hint of existing.
This has been covered on this very board before.
So, no -- secondhand smoke very certainly ISN'T a cause.
Of course, you could always try educating yourself before you abuse the keyboard --

Wow. Awesome, really. You sure you just weren't having a lust attack for m2's meat puppet in your shit-grinder?
Speaking of m2... if he went stalking around the board looking for payback for a perceived slight, pretty sure even he could come up with something a bit more clever than that.
But look on the brightside. At least you've got Screwball in your corner, which is nice. T1B is grateful he's not in the opposite corner, otherwise we really would have that proverbial "cripple fight" on our hands.

Re: Patrick Swayze Dead.
My dad probably suffered at least a couple of months before seeing a doctor. He decided to tough it out because he felt obligated to take his grandsons across the country on a road trip. He had to cut the trip short because he didn't have the energy to drive or even eat. Got the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer on July 17, 2006. Game over. Late stage 3 or 4. Died August 20, 2006. Didn't complain once. Felt lucky to have lived almost to 63 after surviving brain tumor in 1970.smackaholic wrote:The doc's incompetence in missing a disease which pretty much bats 1.000 was probably a blessing. Looks like lots of people in here have had a relative who got offed by this. For me, it was my uncle. He managed to last about a year and a half after the diagnosis, at a good decade older than Swayze, so he definitely beat the odds.socal wrote:My dad probably suffered at least a couple of months before seeing a doctor.
