Mucho...FSU/USF

Post by Mr T »

I know Grothe being out puts a damper on this game but I heard the backup is pretty good and a Tally native. He should be up for this game. Both teams struggled in their second games. How do you see this one turning out?

Ps. It fucking sucks that this game is on ESPNU. I will have to find the game on ustream, justin.tv, or channelsurfing.

Why not just go to a sports bar? Most will have ESPNU.

I am interested to see how FSU plays coming off their beatdown at BYU. I could see a letdown here especially against a team that we know is going to be fired up to play. I don't think USF is a better team than FSU, but I would think the intangibles are greatly on their side.

Still think FSU probably wins, but an upset is not out of the question. I see the spread is around 2 touchdowns, so I would take FSU (I like to pick against myself :D ).

I know Daniels will be ready to play. He obviously lacks the game experience that Grothe has, but he is a better runner with a much better arm. I would look for us to throw deep since we have some good deep threats this year. I'd expect FSU to blitz a good deal against our young OL, so Daniels will have to find the quick read as well.

I'm more concerned with our defense. I know we've played pretty "vanilla" the first 3 games, but the DL wasn't getting great pressure. I am hopeful that changes with some blitzing that I would expect to use a good deal.

Going to be a tough one for us, but we should be in it.

I think Daniels will be dangerous considering FSU will not get pressure on him. They have not gotten any pressure on a QB so far this year. FSU's DB's are getting better but still no where near where they need to be. I think this is going to be a close one if our defense cannot score a couple interceptions. If they can do that... and they should against a green QB, I doubt USF can match FSU's offense.

Gonna be fun to watch!

I'd be surprised if FSU didn't blitz considering that we have a very young OL and it could force bad decision by Daniels. I can see why FSU might be a bit hesitant to do that because of the running threat that he is.

Definitely agree turnovers could be a huge key and we obviously can't do what BYU did and hope to be in the game.

Sounds like it will be a shootout.

FSUs has one of the worst pass defenses in the country. Hopefully that changes, can't keep that up and expect to beat good teams.

I am thinking 41-38 and some big numbers by both QBs

I live in SEC Country so all TVs at bars will be on LSU-MissSt

Glad we did it. Y'all should check it out, you might be able to get ESPNU for not that much more than whatever you're paying now.
No really worth it to me. Most of the time you can pick up the games on ESPN360 or on a stream website for free. Dont really understand why this game will not be on ESPN360 considering ESPN runs ESPNU.

Eh, there's always a place you can find your game. When I'm out of town during an Iowa game I usually make a post on an Iowa board asking for a good bar in that city to catch the Hawks. Works every time.

I'm pretty certain there's plenty of Noles anywhere in SEC country.

I got ESPNU on the digital package. Not NFL Network, though. The main incentive for the digital package was the extra channels the kids like. I've actually thought of going back down to the basic cable package just to cut costs, but the kids probably would mutiny if I ever did that.

Couldnt imagine a shittier first half.

FSUs play calling inside the red zone is fucking horrible but nothing is worse than the noles secondary.

I was a bit skeptical of our D going in, but I think emotion and hunger played a big part in the effort today. Pierre-Paul was a flat out beast. I was surprised at all the pressure we created without using much of a blitz, if any.

B.J. was excellent. The INTS weren't his all his fault and he'll learn from the first one to just take the sack.
