Can it happen?
1. Florida .9842
2. Alabama .9516
3. Texas .9234
4. TCU .8620
5. Cincinatti .8580
If Texas loses to aTm, then could Florida and Bama play twice?

Yes. I've been saying that all season long. If the SEC CCG is a good, close game between undefeateds, absolutely there could be a rematch, in the absence of any undefeateds from any BCS conferences. Cincy is only marginally considered to be in a BCS conference this season, so if it came down to undefeated TCU, Boise or Cincy, or a one loss SEC CCG loser, especially if that loser was Florida?Go Coogs' wrote:Can it happen?

Yeah, we could see a rematch, if Texas loses somewhere. Tha' fuck is Texas going to lose somewhere though? There's nobody else in that whole conference.
Btw, USC has zero business being ranked above Oregon. That's just plain stupid.

Should and would ain't the same things. A one loss Florida who still looked good in losing the SEC CCG may still be able to fall back on their enormous BCS points advantage to stay ahead of an undefeated Cincy.
Urban Meyer, TimTebow(trademark) and Florida, or a Johnny-come-lately program from a woebegone conference nobody cares about besides their own fans? Who do you think the SEC lovin' media will end up putting in the title game?
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a rematch, under that scenario...especially if Pitt loses to ND, fucking up Cincy's only chance at a somewhat splashy late season win.

The Argument for USC being the 5th best team in the Pac-10 is stronger than the argument that they're the 5th best team on the country. USC is currently 4th in the Pac-10 Standings.
1. Oregon 5-1
2. Arizona 4-1
3. Stanford 5-2
4. (Tie) Oregon State and USC 4-2 (Or St Lost a close shootout AT USC, but would they beat USC in Corvallis, and by more than 6 points? Maybe.
BTW, Conference and National Doormat Wazzu's closest conference losses: USC and Arizona State.

If Stanford beats USC (#5), Kal (#1) and Notre Dame (#1a) in their final three games after beating Oregon (#0), shouldn't they qualify for a BCS bowl game in spite of losing to Wake, OSU and 'zona?Papa Willie wrote:Q, West Coast Style wrote:Which impressed you more: The blowout loss to an Oregon team that as it turns out isn't the best team in the land, or the sqeaker over an Arizona State team that's probably the 7 or 8th best team in the Pac-10?Papa Willie wrote:My Top 10:

You've got a point, but my top 10 is based really on what I think that team would do if they played somebody else tomorrow. My secret little power ranking. I would maybe swap USC and TCU. Honestly - if they played tomorrow, though, I think USC would beat Oregon, but that's just my thought. What Oregon did this past weekend was piss poor. Giving up 51 is shit. Not only that, but I base a lot of that on how Stanford was up 20-0 on WAKE FOREST - and fucked it away and lost.
Let's see what happens with Stanford and USC. I think Stanford will be hungover (just like you guys OBVIOUSLY were), and USC kicks their asses.

Re: BCS Top 25 11/9
And why exactly is Cincinnati losing a HIGH probability? To WVa? Possible but not probable. To Illinois? Highly doubtful. To Pitt? Again possible but certainly not highly probable. What wins does Pitt have that are better than wins Cincinnati has? The only thing they clearly have going in their favor is playing at home. Road games don't bother Cincinnati though. We've already won 5 of them (including 2 road wins over BCS top 25 teams) which is more than alot of teams will even PLAY on the road this year.Go Coogs' wrote:Jsc810 wrote:If there are only two undefeated teams, an undefeated SEC champ and Cincy, then Cincy should be in the title game, since it is in a BCS conference. Okay, let me rephrase that. Among the undefeateds left, Cincy's chances of losing a game is at a higher probability than any other top 6 school. Would you agree to that?

Didn't Wake Forest nearly beat Georgia Tech this past week, at Georgia Tech?
I don't know that Stanford blowing a big lead at Wake in week two of the season is really all that damning of a loss, especially with a redshirt freshman QB playing in only his second career start.
Stanford's a decent team this year, especially at home.

Yeah, I was kidding about 'furd getting a BCS bid. Three losses definitely puts that out of the picture. They do deserve more respect than #25 on one poll and nowhere on the others, IMO. If they could run the table and end up 9-3 they should at least be top 15 or 20 material. Prolly lose all three though due to mid-terms or something.
They blew leads against Wake and 'zona and almost blew a 20 point 4th quarter lead against Oregon. The defense was dead on their feet at the end, and the offense couldn't do shit either. Maybe Jim needs to get them running a few more laps? Understandable, though, that Gerhart was a little tired after 38 carries.

Some of those passes were against absofuckinglutely PERFECT coverage.
Hell, a couple of those longer plays, the receiver wasn't even looking -- the ball just broke some very longshot odds, and magically appeared in the WR's hands.
He didn't throw it that much, but when he did... damn.
I guess there's a reason why the PAC's #1 rated passer is a frosh. I'd say the Singulars are set at QB for a couple of years (dude is so good, you probably won't get a 4th out of him).
I think we also learned that Oregon's 3-4 can be beaten by a bunch of monsters lining up in the I with an extra TE... that took Oregon away from everything they'd been so succfessful with on D this year.
Props to Harbaugh. If he could get more bodies and more depth, that team will be competing for the conference soon. As it was, it looked like the Singulars didn't have much left in the tank -- but they apparently had 60 minutes' worth.

I can't see how anyone can discount TCU and their season while at the same time saying that Cinci is a legit BCS caliber team simply because they come from a conference that is still considered BCS. The fact is The Big East should have lost that BCS automatic bid when they lost Miami, BC, and V-tech. They were left with shitty remains. That's like saying the Big 12 should still be a BCS conference if Texas Nebraska, and OU leave and are replaced with UTEP Wyoming and Colorado State.
The MWC has shown me more over the last 5 years than the Big East has since 2003.
BTW I would stop looking at Texas as the one to lose. It is much more likely to see the SEC champ come out with a loss. Alabama still has to play a tough Allbarn team and Florida still has to play FSU. Both are rivalry games where anything can happen. I could see one of them losing a game and then coming back and winning the conference. If that happens, then what?

then that little girl better be hoping that you don't meet Texas or TCU because both are better than Alabama. No you can't tell when comparing teams we faced. But I guarantee you of the undefeated teams no one has a better offense right now than Texas does and Texas is ranked in the top 10 in just about every single defensive category.
Our offense may not be as good as the 2005 offense was with Vince, but our defense is better.

I'll take Cincinnati's offense over Texas any day of the week. Even in bad games our O is going for over 400 yards and scoring lots of points. Cincinnati lost their Heisman candidate QB and didn't miss a beat......would Texas be able to say that if you lost McCoy? No one can run on Texas especially a one dimensional team that throws the ball like its 1924.
BTW i do have lots of respect for Julio Jones but the Texas D is playing some pretty salty ball right now.
Texas would win 22 to 10 with your defense providing almost all the offense.

No, Missouri ran on the 2nd and 3rd team defense not the Texas first team defense. big difference when you are facing our pups instead of our big dogs.
No worry, Baylor fans seem to think they shut down the Texas Offense in the 2nd half of their game. Which if you look at the numbers, they did. Baylor also scored the last two touchdowns of the game against the Texas D. But really, does it really count against the Texas scout team? I saw guys in there I have never heard of.
This Texas defense is being compared to the 1983 and 91 defenses, and this is some sick praise because those defenses were the bench mark for Texas football.
Alabama may have the worse offense of all the undefeated teams. It's nice you can run the ball, but your team throws like Mangino diets, you try but really really suck at it.
I'm still trying to figure out how Alabama thinks they are going to just shut down the Texas offense, Oklahoma has a better defense and we still put up 16 pts. Nor will you get to Colt enough to disrupt him. Our oline has been playing pretty well as of late.

Re: BCS Top 25 11/9
my opinion is that Texas' front 7 are mos def for real. I find the O a little too dink/dunk with all the underneath stuff. if this team had a Limas Sweed to stretch the field, they'd be my pick to win it all. as it stands, i dunno. they aren't going to lose to anyone in the Big XII since the conference sucks this year.Vito Corleone wrote:then that little girl better be hoping that you don't meet Texas or TCU because both are better than Alabama.
