Acts 10:38

Acts 10:38
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
People are all spiritually oppressed of the devil.
People are in deep anxiety, which they try to hide.
People are in families which are crumbling or totally broken beyond repair.
People are mentally weary, frustrated and angry.
They are physically weary, and illness comes.
Surely.
When we look at the world we see people who seem like they should succeed, or some who do succeed, but ultimately they reach some sort of limit and failure comes to them.
This is what satan brought upon mankind from the event of Genesis 3.
Look what Paul relays in Ephesians.
Ephesisan 2:1-3
1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
He is speaking to believers, and he is telling us that we were dead.
Yes, God's sure Words to Adam.
If you eat of the tree, you will surely die.
And this death has passed to all humanity - Romans 5:12.
This is why people are in failure and misery, inevitably.
Unseen to their eyes, they are being dragged around by satan, who seeks to destroy them.
Of course believers have salvation, but we are also prone to oppression when we hold to things other than Christ.
When that happens we begin to build our own little Towers of Babel in this world -- seeking to "make our own happiness".
Futile.
Matthew 16:16
Jesus, you are the Christ, the son of the living God.
1 John 3:8
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Only Christ gives the spiritual healing that people must have.
There is nowhere else to look.

^^^
Christ taught the Jews that they need not be held in bondage by the multitude of scriptures which their religious leaders of the day were using to keep them under THEIR thumb.
Yes or No??
Christ set US all free - free to be anew upon the glorious heavenly path, free to do that which is pleasing onto our Heavenly Father, not to be hog tied by scriptural fear.
Yes or No??
Christ set mankind free to pursue a personal relationship with OUR Heavenly Father.

When you look around at people you can see that everyone is afflicted, and in so many ways.Sam wrote:No offense, but.....

The afflictions just get progressively worse.
And people quietly endure their afflictions and attempt to keep them hidden.
So what is this?
What is wrong with people?
What has happened to people?
I don't think you'll read what I posted to start this thread in many other places.
But I'd wish for you to look at it again quietly and carefully.
What is posted there is the truth.

Sam, I don't doubt that you are a friendly guy who makes the most of his life and does his best to enjoy it -- and help others.
It's all good.
Jesus came and fully showed Himself to be the Christ.
To take things to such an extent that He would be nailed to the cross and endure what He endured makes me pause.
Was this really necessary?
As we look at the Bible, we see why this needed to happen.
Christ came to destroy the work of the devil - 1John 3:8.
We see the origin of the work of satan in Genesis 3, and how that has passed to all humanity.
I am fully convicted that what I wrote to open this thread is the truth.
If you don't share the conviction, so it goes.

Re: Acts 10:38
Suffering has come upon mankind because of the present darkness.
We see it from the very beginning of the Bible.
Genesis 1:1-3
1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
But God gave the answer for man -- the Light.
2Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness (Genesis 1:3), hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
John 12:46 (Jesus speaking)
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Re: Acts 10:38
People think that if ...
they just get the right job ...
meet the right person ...
get good grades ...
work diligently ...
live an upright life ...
all will be well.
But that is not it.
In Matthew 12, the Pharisees didn't understand that Jesus' role is to chase out demons who oppress people.
Matthew 12:22-24
22: Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23: And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24: But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
And Jesus said this in verse 29.
29: Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man?
It is the "strong man" that holds people such that they must suffer inevitable unhappiness, turmoil and failure.
Ephesians 6:12
12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
But people mistakenly think they can win the flesh battles that I noted at the start of this post.
It's quicksand.
For this reason, Christ came to destroy the work of the devil - 1John 3:8.

Re: Acts 10:38
I am not ashamed to say that I am a believer - both in G-d, and Jesus.
And I am not ashamed to say that I am not a believer in mankind's ability to fully understand the spiritual - including my own ability to do so, as well as those Bible Guys who gave their own take on what they thought Christ was about, or given to human nature, their take on what they thought He SHOULD of been about, after he was crucified.
He told them plenty - but their ears wouldn't open.
I'm not saying that they didn't mean well, just that humans will be humans, which is why I am more then free willing to place my eternal future in the hands of a far greater and all knowing power...not stake it on the opinions of other earthlings.
From a Christian standpoint - According to the Bible, should one place more trust in Christ's spoken words, then one does in second hand bias accounts on what their Master had to say??
For Eg:
Matthew 22:36-40 (King James Version)
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
So -If it's good enough for G-d, Jesus, and The Prophets - it's good enough for me.
And just so you know - If Jesus taught that everything was about him and only him, I prolly wouldn't be a believer in him either.
But he didn't - He taught mankind how to live in harmony as a people, how we could achieve peace upon our planet, how to rise above our animal nature through love, and come to realize without doubt or need of faith, the glorious blessing which come with honoring our creator with all of our hearts, souls, and minds.
What's not to love about that.
Pop talks about how we are all born in bondage - Jesus taught the world a way out, a way to plug in to the mysteries of the supernatural, a way to plug into the power and grace which comes with being of a spiritual nature. A way to break the back of satan, and his hold upon this miserable place with it's sick and tortured existence.
A way to rise above our lesser selves.
What's not to love about that.
Again - Christ wasn't about himself - Christ was about us awakening to the fact that we are all children of G-d who can have heaven on earth, and would have heaven on earth, if we simple followed but two simple commandments which he taught, all else would fall into place.
What's not to love about that.
Love Love Love
