MSU @ Northwestern PET

Waiting for a train on the north side of Chicago out to Evanston.

Passing the river, walking to the arena.

Passing the football stadium. I did a MSU @ Northwestern football PET last year.

Image

In the parking lot walking to the arena slamming cheap, cold beer in 9 degrees.

Found a nice little nook on the side of the arena near this BTN trailer to slam the rest of our beer.

Ahh, finally inside. The place is a glorified high school gym. But kind of a cool atmosphere to see a Big Ten game in when the place is sold out. Northwestern came into the game ranked in the top 25 (#25) for the first time in like 50 years. So the place was buzzing before the game but I'd say there were just as many if not more MSU fans in the building (they were on the other side for the most part).

Northwestern played a tough 1st half but MSU wore them down with the fast break. Chris Allen tossed an alley oop to Raymar Morgan from half court midway through the 2nd half and that's when MSU really started to pull away. Good way to start the Big Ten season.

Sorry for some of the dark and grainy shots, btw. I'm in dire need of a digi cam upgrade.

Nice PET!

Seriously though, not even lying, my high schools basketball court was twice the size of that place. WTF?

rack the PET.

the whole purple, Carrier roof top unit-Cold War architecture feel of NW caused me to choose Vanderbilt.

Rack the PET... but damn OU fans complain about the LNC and it is light years ahead of that place!

Talk about high school...more than half the seats are wooden bleachers. I thought it was kind of cool actually.
