Barry's Budget

Post by poptart »

http://article.nationalreview.com/42360 ... he-editors

Between 1789 and 2008, the U.S. government borrowed a total of $5.8 trillion. But in just the first three years of the Obama administration, the government is set to borrow $4.4 trillion more.

And even that wouldn’t be the end of it. If the Obama budget is adopted in full, federal borrowing will top $18 trillion by 2020. Over the period 2011 to 2020, the president’s plan is to run deficits totaling an astounding $8.5 trillion.

What is going on with Barry?

I see just two possibilities.

a) He's a COMPLETE idiot
b) He's trying to collapse the U.S. monetary system

If the libs want to come in this thread and give me a c), I'll be glad to hear ya out.

Take a shot at it.

What's Barry doing with the budget?

I actually might have added a c), and that being, he has an agenda and just doesn't care if it results in major financial trouble for the country.

Educate us, Mikey.

What in fuck's name is he doing??

He's following the example of Ronald Reagan.

Paradox of Reagan Budgets: Austere Talk vs. Record Debt

It's a simple forula really. Blow up federal spending and watch the money come rolling in. Every President since Ronnie has used it. I'm sure Ron Paul has told you everything *you* need to know about the practice.

LOL

Do your own research into the SERIOUS DECLINE in the purchasing power of your dollar, champ - and especially over the past few decades, when "smart" people have gotten drunk with the power to take out credit cards in OUR name.

You get fucked in the @ss and talk it up like nothin' beats it.

Simply amazing stupidity.

'Tart,

Don't blame me, blame Reagan. He's the one who started this trend. And every President since, save Clinton, has followed suit.

Blame Reagan. bwaaa ...

I knew "It's Bush's fault" would explode in your face after a while, but damned if I knew you'd then dig Ronnie up and start pointing at HIM.

Yeah, ride that pony for a while.

Sure winner in '12.

Hey, it worked for Rayguns. Look for about 5 years of "record setting growth" followed by a recession as reality catches up. Buy now, there's bargains aplenty.

Fuggen Democrats always ignoring spending...hence, Barry and his stupid deficit commission. It aint about deficits...it's about spending. But I guess next year Barry's going to address that, right? With his so-called spending freeze...bwahahahahaaaaa

And every one of those spending bills was signed by that paragon of limited government Ronald Wilson Reagan. He could have vetoed every last one of them. But he didn't.

A little bit different when you own Congress and have a hostile Congress. Hence, the diff between Reagan and Barry. But I'm not sure why Reagan or Bush is a factor here. Barry owns the budget now along with a friendly Congress. Nothing Reagan or Bush did justifies Barry's outrageous spending plans.

Hostile Congress or not, the Executive Branch still controls the how the lion's share of federal spending is actually spent. Had Reagan REALLY wanted to nip spending in the bud he could have vetoed any one of those spending bills and not been overridden by Democrats. The Senate was controlled by Republicans from 1981-87 and the House Democrats never had a 2/3 majority in that chamber. So what the fuck are you talking about?

Still not sure why you're banging on Reagan for Barry's complete inability to govern...maybe you can answer that? Fact remains that Obama is and will be racking up far more deficits than any other US pres could imagine. The worst part is that he doesn't need to except to cater to his ego.

What makes you think I'm banging on Reagan? Reagan was a great liberal Democrat.

So what? The last 30 years should have told you that deficit spending pays.

No, Reagan was not a great lib Democrat. He was a great liberal in the classical sense.

But I see you still cannot answer why Reagan is at all relevant when discussing Barry's historical deficits...

Only if you ignore the fact that the purchasing power of the dollar has shrunk considerably.

Yeah, minor detail.

Big deal. The purchasing power of all currency has diminished. Meanwhile, Rayguns is still worshiped by conservitards everywhere despite his pissing in your face for 8 years. It is no surprise that Obama has chosen to follow his model.

I care not about the diminishing purchasing power of another country's currency.

Once again you miss the point. There is nothing inherently wrong with inflation.

In any event, his deficit spending didn't add up to a pisshole in a snowbank compared to Ojiggaboo's. Moderate and temporary deficits are not necessarily a bad thing, but we are far beyond that right now.
Reagan's deficits were no more "moderate" or "temporary" than Obama's. Get your head out of your fucking ass for once. In case you missed it, our GDP is not 2.7 trillion dollars anymore.
