Re: 2010 Olympic Hockey
Excellent slate of games today
U.S. - Switzerland
Russia - Canada
Sweden - Slovakia
Finland - Czech Republic
Going to be a long evening waiting for that Finland - Czech game, which should be a good one.

^^^ That's what I wanted to hear. I'll probably skip the LaSalle-GW game tonight to watch the Russia-Little Brother game, you know, blood rivals playing for fifth place.

fukk.
i'll be at work the US-Swiss and probably fall asleep before the end of Canada-Russia.
So, who should I pull for in the canuck-russkie game? I'd rather see lil' bro whip russia's ass, but, I'm admittedly a bit scared of having to deal with those syrup chugging, beaver trapping, igloo living, over rated beer swilling bastids.
So, I guess it's "let's go (former) commie bastards!!!!

It is Eastern time. I have the DVR set to tape the US game, but I will check the score while I am at work.

Re: 2010 Olympic Hockey
A U.S. - Canada gold medal game might be shaping up. The Finns did not look very impressive last night, especially with all the PP's they had early on. Slovakia is good, but Canada should beat them easily.

Re: 2010 Olympic Hockey
Kiprusoff is a goalie capable of steal a game on his own so he's my biggest concern going into tomorrow's semifinal matchup. The Americans are playing so well as a team and Miller is probably the best goalie left in the tournament after Lundqvist was exposed and eliminated late last night following two shutouts in the prelims. I can see another low-scoring, grinding type of game that Team USA survives and moves onto Sunday. The Fins played rope-a-dope with the Czechs and eventually broke through in the third...the Americans would be wise to not let them hang around like they did with the Swiss.
Canada shouldn't have too many problems with the Slovaks but that is a team playing with a lot of confidence and they're the team out of the final 4 that has flown under the radar. They were narrowly beaten by the Czechs in the first game, beat the Russians in a shootout and trashed Latvia leading up to Tuesday's close win over Norway and the mild upset over Sweden. It's quite obvious that loss to Team USA in the prelims has Canada playing with a chip on their shoulder and to me, they look like a team on a mission. I'm thinking a 5-3 Canada victory will set up the Canada-USA rematch.

Hopefully the extra rest will help him get the Rangers in the playoffs, but they won't do much if they get there.
