hopefully I win...HOPEFULLY OSU doesn't fuck me like they have last year and a couple of other times with not covering...

better gets your bets in early
I would go down around 7, stand in line, make all of my morning and afternoon bets for day. Lines get big, this is one of vegas bid weekends.
i'll give ya a dog or 2 to bet.

Re: Heading to Vegas for 1st Weekend of March Madness
sc, enjoy. I went for first weekend a couple years ago. Best time ever in Vegas and I have been a lot. I asked my bro in law to go with me this year because both our wives and kids are heading to the condo in Florida, but his mom is going psycho and off her meds, and he has to stick around here. OH well, I'll be a lazy ass bum BBQing all week long watching all the games at home and getting sloppy drunk as well. I'm locking the key to the hot tub and hiding it in the saety deposit box just so's I don't get any clever ideas to drown while I pass out somewhere.
I also considered going to New Orleans if A&M gets the draw to go there. Even if we lose the first game, hey, you're still in New Orleans. Can't get anyone to commit to go with me though.
Rack the tourney.

You won't regret it. It is Vegas' Super Bowl. I have not gone during week 2 or 3 of the tourney, but from what I have heard, week 1 is the best. With the seedings not being determined until 3 days before the tourney starts, it makes it hard to book travel and make plans to go to your team's round 1 and 2 games unless it is easily driveable.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:I plan on doing this some time in the near future. Just knowing you are going to Vegas well in advance allows you to make travel arrangements much easier. PLus, those of us who go to Vegas a lot tend to have sweet deals with the casinos. I have 4 free nights at the Venetian/Palazzo anytime I want to go to Vegas. Flights are always cheap. Assuming you are not a degenerate gambler, know how to play the system for free drinks ad have comped hotel accomodations, you can have a great time for little money.
My last trip out to Vegas in November, I broke even on the trip. Free hotel, flights were about $250 each round trip for the wife and I, $120 dinner each night, a couple shows and good luck at the tables netted a fine 4 days/3 nights trip. Even bad luck at the tables and I would probably have been out $1500 or less.
I always go in each day with a budget. I bring in $600 cash each day. $500 max can be lost at the craps table. If I lose it all, then I use that leftover $100 to be horse races. This can last much longer as you have much more time between the races. Luckily, I rarely have had to go to the tracks. If I lose all $600, I had a good long day of gambling and I have my $600 stashed in the hotel room for the next day.
I've never lost more than $1000 in Vegas. Only once mre than $300. I have come home with up to $3000 in winnnings however and usually am coming home a winner.
Damn...I need to get back to Vegas.

SC
Staying away from Mizzou game. Not liking things i'm hearing from columbia, players hurting, injured, and others continuing to struggle leading up to Friday(in practice). This game, one way or another should be over at half.
Also for dogs:
Not a lot of good Money line games, like when i went. UMW(+300) and Bradley(+330) were the easiest dogs i ever bet(and my bets were posted on here before i left, especially mentioning im unloading on Bradley).
I will play Wofford +10, and a play them at +450 on money line. They are my dog, rest aren't really dogs. Shocked at how close the lines are, even the 1-16 matchups, those are usually 30+ point favs.
Also like Wake a little at +175. But Might just stay away from it!
Also, shocked at how low the West Virginia line is, it looks like stealing. I'll make them my big play of the tourney, they can flat out play. Athletic and can shoot.

Re: Heading to Vegas for 1st Weekend of March Madness
Here are my plays for Thursday
Georgetown -13 1/2
TENNESSEE -3
St.marys +2
Kentucky-20
Wake Forest +175
Notre Dame -2 1/2
Vandy-3
Marquette/Washington Over 143 washington loves to push it, has some very good guards, marquette has stud guards. end to end action. Or a 3 pt miss fest!
San Diego st/Tenn over 126
SC, let me know who your playing Thursday. getting my Friday games ready tomorrow. Bookie loves this time of year, he cleans up on the march madness warriors. ESPN said this dog was good, so they play them, not knowing where the school is, what conference they play in, or why they bet it! They also unload on the top seeds.

Re: Heading to Vegas for 1st Weekend of March Madness
Al
First we are playing a 8-10 team money line parlay over the first round (1s, 2s, and some 3s and 4s)...then we will hit some smaller parlays and some 1st half stuff...plus some smaller games...
I like the over in the Washington game
LOVE BYU...
Got to see the total in the Wisconsin v Wofford game...anything over 120 or so...will take under or just take a flyer on over..
Like Kentucky 1st half total (over), Kansas 1st half total (over)...
no computer access for me...I'll PM you my cell number you can shoot me texts if you want...

I remember last year's Thursday being pretty uneventful except U-M winning and American giving Villanova a run. Good for you guys and especially those who decided to take the day off.

I have my lap top up here at the local BWW and have done a little bit of work so not a full day off in the technical sense but a lot better than sitting at home or the office and only seeing one game at a time or through the CBS stream .Screw_Michigan wrote:I remember last year's Thursday being pretty uneventful except U-M winning and American giving Villanova a run. Re: Heading to Vegas for 1st Weekend of March Madness
Dude, great fucking idea. Nice job. So how long have you been sucking down sodas at the BWW? When we were in high school, MGO and I would skip class on Thursday afternoon to drink sodas at the local sports bar. It was the greatest shit ever. The high of skipping class combined with the first day of the tournament and four games at once was just incredible. I'm sure those waitresses hated us.

Re: Heading to Vegas for 1st Weekend of March Madness
I was drinking sodas from about 11 until 3:30; I ate as well though. Switched to Rum and coke after I put the work away. The bartender/waitresses don't mind me. I know everyone here; the owner is a friend of mine, the manager is the nephew of the guy who was my best man, the other manager is engaged to a close friend of mine, the bartenders have all been here for a long time and know I spend a good deal and tip well, one of the girls here is a woman who I have casually dated on and off for a while. Basically I am regular... The girls in the back used to fight to wait on us because they know they will get tipped rather well and for not having to do much other than get us drinks and such; now they just all sort of take care of us and split our tip up evenly.Screw_Michigan wrote:Dude, great fucking idea. I'm not the only T1Ber who does this same thing here as well either.
