Freemasonry: Is it anti-Christian, occultism?
What is the satanic root to Freemasonry I hear about?
Is it true they worship demons and give oaths to the Devil?
I can't get a definitive answer from Art Bell.

Mostly just a bunch of old, retired guys who get together at their lodge and do charity work in their local communities.
Sorry...

Huh. Dunno if the reason why my response didn't show up is because I'm posting from 31,000 feet over the Rockies or because Art Bell has set his tinfoild hatters upon me, but I'll try again. It is my understanding that the antagonism the Church has reserved for the Freemasons is based on the oath of fealty the Masons require of their members to the organization. The oath supposedly prioritizes and places the Freemasons before God, family, or self. Obviously that is the antithesis of what the Christian church is supposed to be all about.

That oath supersedes any loyalty to country, correct?Rooster wrote:The oath supposedly prioritizes and places the Freemasons before God, family, or self.

Pretty sure the only group that opposed that oath was the Catholic Church. Many Freemasons are Christians but it isn't a requirement, only belief in a Supreme Being is.
I don't think the Freemasons were too keen on Monarchs establishing religions either (Anglican).
Papacy and Monarchy.

Unless you can properly demonstrate the secret handshake no one in the know is going to tell you if Dan Brown is the 11th level Archcleric of Promethius, Royal Order of Watchmen, Klan Xebides, Third Ring.

No. Gramps was a Master Mason, though. Their theology is probably best described as a type of broadly ecumenical deism.Martyred wrote:You're not one of them, are you?

But, yes, the oath supposedly trumps God, country, Mom, and apple pie. I can't speak directly to that since I am not a Freemason-- nor would I be allowed to reveal what goes on during meetings (kinda like the inner workings of the Mormon church?) even if I were, but traditionally it was the Catholic church that most vocally opposed the Masons and other fraternal orders, although Calvinists during the Reformation were quite vociferous in their arguments against fraternities as well.

Re: Freemasonry: Is it anti-Christian, occultism?
However, I suspect that in terms of "I need to not ever break this vow" the oath probably ranks up there with marriage vows: things people mouth because it is expected of them, not something they actually would keep under any and all circumstances.
Which, on a tangent, is something I used to badger my fellow Army officers about when they would go on and on about our Oath of Office. I'd ask them to explain to me why I couldn't expect them to become a traitor and reneg on their vow to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, so help me God, when they couldn't even bother to stick by one woman during their brief marriages. Ooooh, that never failed to piss them off.

Re: Freemasonry: Is it anti-Christian, occultism?
My dad is a 33rd degree Mason and a Shriner. My mom rose up thru Eastern Star to become a Grand Lecturer and state rep of Illinois. As a kid I had to go to some functions but in my teens I blew it off. Seemed my parents, tho successful were always fighting over that stuff. I was turned off on that crap from a very young age. Not too high on religion either. So fuck you Marty!

Damn, I got big questions on my mind!..

Sure you do B-juice. Okay, look, I'll help you out. First, read a lil' book titled Mason & Dixon by Thomas Pynchon. Within its pages you'll learn--peripherally--about a the centuries long struggle between the Masons and the Jesuits. What you're really wondering about in your very limited fashion concerns the matter of what the two organizations are fighting over. Good luck.

No, it's just b-juice being of two minds on an issue. You know, "is it this..or is it that?....or what is it ? or....what is..."

Total bullshit. The Mormon grifters have never had anything whatsoever in common with Masonic principles, symbols, or values.

Re: Freemasonry: Is it anti-Christian, occultism?
Sorry, roach, but this is really all you've got on this inane site...
. included in the actual vocabulary of Joseph Smith's counsel and instructions to the sisters were such words as: ancient orders, examinations, degrees, candidates, secrets, lodges, rules, signs, tokens, order of the priesthood, and keys; all indicating that the Society's orientation possessed Masonic overtones.
And this of course really says nothing. The site appears to be a Christer romper room--the usual Left Behind nonsense. They obviously regard both the Mormons and Masons in the same satanic paradigm. It wouldn't surprise, however, if Smith borrowed and stole any and everything he could to get his show on the road, but there are in fact no Masonic symbols or rituals or anything in the Mormon ceremonies. You've been easily misled.

LTS,
Joe Smith took a LOT of stuff from the Mason's, including the 'secret' handshake you need to give to God to get into heaven.

Roach is correct.
As far as satanic or not.......who gives a shit? The Mason's do great work for society, and the Mormon's, while very nice people, are about one thing........money.

Re: Freemasonry: Is it anti-Christian, occultism?
All right, Shrub, if you know the secret handshake--and provide detailed photographic examples, I'll back off.
