Going to the Texans-Skins game Sunday
This will be my first live NFL game. I used to work for the team, but never got to sit and watch games. Now I will attend that shithole in Landover formerly known as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium. My friend has season tickets, first row in the 400 level, so tickets should be good. Nice matchup too, could be a letdown game for both teams. And the weather will be beautiful Sunday and a 4:15 kick. Sounds like a great day.

Texans by a FG. Count on it.Screw_Michigan wrote:This will be my first live NFL game. I used to work for the team, but never got to sit and watch games. Skins try to stop Foster and do not double AJ. Schaub will throw for 300+ and the Texans sack McNabb 4 times and pick him off 2.
Texans 31
Skins 13

Yep, Skins gotta have a huge day from the defensive secondary and need to score an offensive touchdown.

Shut the fuck up and grab your mop bucket. There's a backed up toilet on the 4th floor.

Almost. I'm just glad I wasn't personally accountable to the VPs. What a nightmare that would have been.

Nice timeout call by Kubiak, thus negating a 52 yard FG that would have won the game. I was expecting Ratahan to do the same thing but for some inexplicable reason, he didn't.
Re: Going to the Texans-Skins game Sunday
Yeah, I found that a little odd, too. I remember when he did that against Janikowski a couple-three seasons ago and it paid off. So why not now?War Wagon wrote:Nice timeout call by Kubiak, thus negating a 52 yard FG that would have won the game. Kubiak is lucky that timeout paid off 'cus electing to punt it on 4th and 4 from the 'Skins 34-yardline was stupid. Grow a paid and either kick a FG or go for it. Don't put it on your young secondary to come up with a big play against a pro-bowl QB. Play to your strengths. Let the offense handle it or Rackers. Piss-poor call there by Kubisuck.

Yep, probably the worst call of the game by either team. I'm still steamed Kubiak got away with it.Go Coogs' wrote:Kubiak is lucky that timeout paid off 'cus electing to punt it on 4th and 4 from the 'Skins 34-yardline was stupid.
My thoughts later.

Its not a piss poor call if Kubiac thought Rackers would likely miss and he had confidence in his defense.
Butkus didn't wear an earring.
Re: Going to the Texans-Skins game Sunday
It is a piss poor call if you punt it. They netted 14 yards on the punt. 4th and 4? Go for it. Skins had no answer for the Texans offense in the second half. Either kick it or go for it. Punting was not an option.Joe in PB wrote:Its not a piss poor call if Kubiac thought Rackers would likely miss and he had confidence in his defense.

Most yards by a Skins QB since 01 and that was when McNabb was at 350.KC Scott wrote:Great fucking game.
Shaub went for almost 500 and McNabb goes for 426
Really disappointed in the Skins run game today. LJ was non-existent other than to run backwards. Nice to see Portis get a couple scores but 50 yds rushing in 60 min isn't going to help you win games. McNabb was incredible and it is amazing how much of an upgrade he is over Campbell. Carlos Rogers amazingly actually caught a cold tonight, but he still sucks. No Haynesworth all night. Fuck him, we don't need him.
The blocked FG was the difference and it was all downhill for the Skins from that moment.

Nice to see Ratahan get a taste of his own medicine (see Week 1 2008 vs. the Bills).War Wagon wrote:Nice timeout call by Kubiak, thus negating a 52 yard FG that would have won the game. I was expecting Ratahan to do the same thing but for some inexplicable reason, he didn't.

.. and in typical McNabb fashion he misses a wide open Moss that could have won the game.KC Scott wrote:McNabb goes for 426
Re: Going to the Texans-Skins game Sunday
The Texans didn't kick the first FG in OT because Rackers passed a kidney stone before the game.
Anyone who has had a Kidney stone will tell you that is the worst pain. There was also a slight breeze and his last kickoff landed at the 10. I was pissed about the call and could not believe that you don't go for the win.
Coaches get paid to make tough decisions. Kubiak did and the result was great for the Texans. I was hoping we would be 2-2 or 3-1 when Cushing came back. Now it looks like we could be 3-1 or 4-0. Looking forward to the Cowgirls coming to Houston next week. Reliant will be loud and the Cowgirls will be 0-3 when they leave.
