Damn the enemy
But that Mike Riley is one clever bastard.
OS's last trip to Boise didn't go well. One of the things that bothered them was picking up receivers on that abomination of a field. And those punks don't let the opponent do a walkthrough or practice on the smurfturf the day before the game.
So, to prep for it, Riley came up with quite the plan -- they painted the practice field blue.
Of course, if BSU wanted to be really clever, they could paint their field green friday... what a hilarious chess match that would be.
Of course, just like last time, the locals are screaming for OS to wear orange from head to toe on the blue field... that would be quite attractive.

I'd be afraid to watch that game. The warranty on my flat screen is expired.Dinsdale wrote:

gamesmanship is one thing....like stories of growing the grass high and slogging it with water when the team with all the speed comes to town....but that's kinda lame imo.Dinsdale wrote: And those punks don't let the opponent do a walkthrough or practice on the smurfturf the day before the game.

That's why we play all our games at home.

Why wouldn't they let the opposing team have a walk through?

Re: Damn the enemy
I like Boise quite a bit but the "no walkthrough" policy is bush-league garbage.
You gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite?
Re: Damn the enemy
For a program that's so desperate for "respect," BSU is sure turning into a bunch of punks trying to get it.
The whole bit with demanding a ridiculous paycheck to play the big names, then screaming from the mountaintops that said big name was too scared to play them is freaking silly.

Very true. I hadn't even known of the no walk through until you mentioned it. That's freaking bush league.Dinsdale wrote:For a program that's so desperate for "respect," BSU is sure turning into a bunch of punks trying to get it.

Re: Damn the enemy
it's like not letting the visiting team have a shoot around on the floor the game will be played on. for instance, at KU's Allen Fieldhouse on the South concourse level there's a lot of open glass. on a Saturday day game, that shooting background is bright with sunlight....and what i've been told by a couple OU players and CU's Donnie Boyce that depth perception can be tricky. and something that you might need some time to adjust. i imagine throwing to a blue spot with blue uniforms running around could be disarming. like mucho said, it's bush league. not saying KU does it, they don't. just that it's analogous and beyond the ken of creating a competitive disadvantage for the visitor. but, if they were Boise, they might. and visiting squad is spending the first 8 minutes of the half, shooting into the glare.

How do you feel about never leaving your home stadium/state to play Out Of Conference Games? Painting the visitor locker room pink? press releasing the dates and locations of an opponents practice session on Thursday so all of your fans can show up?Danimal wrote:I like Boise quite a bit but the "no walkthrough" policy is bush-league garbage.
Oregon said that they would have painted their field blue to prepare but they didnt have the funds. Guess uncle Phil spent all of his money buying the whole team lap tops
