West Coast Sources have allegedly said that McDaniels was fired "for cause" meaning the team doesn't have to pay him the remainder of his contract.
The "for cause" was apparently further revelations regarding the videotaping of the San Fransissyco 49ers in London a few weeks ago. Allegedly, today was the day the camera operator gave his testimony to the league office and the details were said to be none too good for McDaniels.

I suspect the in-season firing was done by Bowlen because he wants to enhance the "cause" case against McDaniels.Cuda wrote:West Coast Sources have allegedly said that McDaniels was fired "for cause" meaning the team doesn't have to pay him the remainder of his contract.

A "See, things were so bad - and due to the spygate thing - that I had to dump him mid-stream" sort of thing.
If Bowlen was just going to make a coaching change, he could have let Josh finish the season.
Shit, it's 4 friggin' "meaningless" games.
Just play 'em and fire the 'tard at season's end if you want to.
But no, Pat B. has greased him and you know what's next.

how can you call tebow a terrible pick....he has the best selling jersey in Denver so that must mean he's good..........he gutted our team with 2 terrible draft picks
by my calculations, using Teblows 5 year guaranteed salary, based on his 12 runs and 1 pass, that equates to about $133,846/play...fuck, where do I sign up for that?

Where exactly do you think Tebow should be at this stage of his professional development? He's got 4 TDs in 13 touches. What the fuck are you crying about?
Just shut the fuck up, you submoronic asswipe.

Yeah, I'm sure they want some more film on him for next year. Just kind of idiotic to be blasting Tebow as part of the problem.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Here is the problem…If you are the Broncos interim head coach (Eric Studesville) would you put Tebow in at QB to see what the future holds for the Denver Broncos or would you play the players that give you the best chance to win for your own future?KC Scott wrote:If he has any potential - there's zero to lose by the Doinks trotting him out for these last 4 meaningless games
Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Studesville's "own future" is predicated on doing what the fuck he's told to do not winning the next few games. If the organization's priority is to evaluate Tebow for the remainder of the season then that is what will happen.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
I seriously doubt that this is any kind of audition for Studesville as head coach in Dungver.
The situation is a clusterfuck right now and it'd be damn near impossible to get much of an evaluation for an assistant stepping up to lead the team for 4 remaining games in such a circumstance.
Head coach of the Denver Broncos is a pretty lofty position - by NFL standards.
You've got history, you've got very devoted fans, and you've got an owner who has won and seemingly wants to win again very badly.
I can't see Bowlen settling on an assistant who has been promoted due to the failure of the current head coach.
A LOT of folks would be interested in that job.
It'll most likely be a "name" guy, imo.

If Gary Kubiak gets blown out of Houston after the season (and there's a good argument that he should be), I'd bet he could have the Donkeys job if Bowlen offered it.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Garrett took over with 8 games remaining.
While his team was pretty much toast (1-7) as far as a playoff shot, that's still a substantial number of games left to be played.
8 games is a chance for a coach to DO something.
An owner might be able to make some evaluation in that case.
Dungver has just 4 games remaining.
There is really no opportunity for a coach to do anything in that short amount of time when the team is a bottom-feeder with no current hope at all.
In Dallas' case, I thought Garrett had a shot at keeping the job into next season when he took over this year - provided the team respond a little bit to him.
I don't think Jerrah necessarily wants a name coach.
He wants a competent coach who he thinks he keep a leash on.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Uh..no. The situations aren't even remotely similar. Garrett has been specifically groomed to be the head coach in Dallas for the past several years. That's why Jones made him the highest paid coordinator in the league rather than risk losing his services to another team.KC Scott wrote:That's what the situation looked like for Jason Garrett - just play out the string till Jones could get Cower or some other name HC.
Studesville is just a warm body who doesn't even have experience as a coordinator.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Not a chance. The only reason Studesville was given the job is because Bowlen is going to completely clean house on the administrative side during the off season. He's just a caretaker playing out the string. I seriously doubt he'll even be back with the team next year in any capacity regardless of his record.KC Scott wrote:If studdesville somehow rallies the troops out of nowhere and they run the last 4 games, Bowlen will have to give serious consideration to keeping him - as coach.
Bowlen will go for one of the 'big names' out there in order to begin restoring some semblance of credibility. That guy will want his own people.

Re: Josh McDaniels: Shitcanned
Funny how the good franchises almost NEVER go for the big name. Coaches like Harbaugh, Tomlin, Reid, Fisher and Payton were all guys with no head coaching experience. They were all well regarded as coordinators, but not as head coaches. And Belichik was seen as a good coordinator who had lost his team in his one previous HC chance. Sure, there's exceptions. But of Bowlen really wants to get his team's act together, he'll find a solid but low profile football guy to run his football operations and make that GM hire a similarly low profile solid coordinator to coach the team.mvscal wrote:Bowlen will go for one of the 'big names' out there in order to begin restoring some semblance of credibility.

Flight risk? So you're not even going to try to make sense? How long do you think it takes to clean house and blow out all the dead weight? Three years max.BSmack wrote:Which would be stupid. Yes, he's a flight risk. Parcells will bolt at the worst possible time. He'd be fine as a consultant, but not as the guy with final say over football operations.mvscal wrote:Flight risk? whoever they get better be somebody that can restore some semblance of integrity to the organization.....

the last thing denver needs is for one of the players to get charged with a serious crime...I'm not so sure they've hit rock bottom yet
that's why I tend to agree with mvscal that Bowlen will go for a top to bottom house cleaning.....

good gawd, that performance at Arizona was embarrassing-Denver is in shambles right now....one of the worst Broncos teams I've ever seen...
if you're going to trade all those picks to grab Tebow in the draft, you might as well give him the opportunity to play, he couldn't do any worse than Orton...unless Studsville thinks putting him back there would get him killed
