Better yet, let's just say last 3 years so that only Iowa fits your criteria. That way, in your delusional mind, you can rest assure that Iowa is the best team in the last 3 years even with 11 losses.TheJON wrote:Last 20 years.......Killian wrote:You should look harder. You realize I had qualified the last 20 years requirement before Killian posted that, right?? I didn't change the rules in the middle of the game....Better yet, let's just say last 3 years so that only Iowa fits your criteria.
But you are correct......Iowa is the ONLY team in the country that does not have a double digit loss since 2007.

i think Nebraska fan as a group has more votes. they came on strong at the end.
talk about blaming everyone else. Oklahoma (backstabbing brother, Cain), officiating, the Big XII, Beebe, Cally, Steve Pederson (nice OOC Nebraska), Texas, etc.....for the fact you weren't a factor in the Big XII. Who's fault is that, really?
Bill Callahan for inventing the forward pass and NU fan late to the dance that he was a asshat..... but still not having a QB who could throw a lick, minus Norman High's Zac Taylor....
Face it Bugeater, you haven't been very good this decade and winning 10 games is easy with that patsy OOC you have. And, you didn't invent being a good fan....you guys whine like tiny bitches most of the time. the "classiest" fans in America......is BS. keep telling yourself that and reading Tom Shatel. Big Ten media isn't going to suck up to NU football like Omaha and the Lincoln Journal-Star.

Rack KC...and I'm not referring to that cesspool in Misery.
Nebraska was given the keys to a division that SHOULD have been theirs every year. The South had all the REAL players as far as the conference went. They were given a steak dinner and chose to eat shit and then cried about how bad it tasted. I am so looking forward to seeing the Big 10 dryfuck those 'skers.

nothing indy said is up for dispute. nebraska whined and whined about the big xii and how they were going to fuck shit up on their way out, and the only thing that came of their bluster was to run home tail between their legs and without their ball since the conference wouldn't let them have it back.
Re: Board bitch 2010??
Idiot. A semblance of intelligence and a token ability to express our common language qualify us to speak. Indy’s last post displayed neither. And yours is in question:M Club wrote:if whom you root for qualifies you to speak then you should have never registered in the first place.

To suggest that perennial division titles were served up as some kind of birthright with the inception of the XII is patently arrogant. And to assert that the “real” players in this conference all reside in the South - with the inference being that aTm somehow belongs in this discussion - is downright condescending.
Sorry, but burning through a bonfire-sized pile of money in support of a program that categorizes a third-place finish in its division as a good year does not “qualify” your school as a “real” player.
Yeah, Nebraska bitched. It’s only been smacked and argued in about 100 threads up in this bitch. The bottom line is Texas wouldn’t flinch and Nebraska got a better deal. Both will make out like robbers.

Ummm no. The FBI had been involved and involved long before the NCAA or even just SCam Newton scandal started to come to light. The Justice Department has been investigating members of Auburn's board of trustees for numerous criminal activities for a very long time. That was the only real aspect the FBI cared about Scam Newton concerning in reality anyway.Mr T wrote:FBI got involved shortly after Cams academic records got released.TheJON wrote:Link???calling out cam for cheating while in gainesville

That's my understanding as well. The FBI was conducting their investigation of Auburn board members and got information regarding the Mississippi State offer through telephone taps....which has ultimately led to where we are today with this story. Not sure where it will end but it's already provided more off the field drama than I care to see. I suspect that, at some point, the NCAA will confirm that Newton received money and Auburn will forfeit all of their games, but that is total speculation on my part based on what information has been reported so far. The NCAA says that the investigation is ongoing, so we haven't heard the last of it.SunCoastSooner wrote:Ummm no. Jesus just pack your shit and get the fuck out of OUr conference... asap.
Shouldn't you guys be busy sucking Ann Arbor and Columbus cock for your welfare check the same way you have Norman and Austin the last decade?
Go cry about prop 48 to the Big 10, see how that goes over. Go whine to them about the decline of your program now that you aren't able to start eight or nine players who couldn't qualify for college. Cry them a river about not having a 141 man roster anymore (the size of the Nebitch roster the last time they actually won a national title). Face the fact that you were just another dwarf we stepped on during the majority of the Big 12 era. Fifteen years of the conference, 8 title games, 7 titles, 9 BCS appearances, and four national title games. Run away little red, your new masters are awaiting. I just wonder how long it takes them to be as sick of you and your whiny asses as we became. They don't have the same good will capital stored up as we did and you spent.

It won't happen until the Justice Department and FBI conclude their investigation and are willing to really share some of the things they uncovered during the course of their investigation. That could be years down the road as well. The Justice Department is in this one for the long haul.

Yep, the FBI doesn't care about Cam Newton and the NCAA won't get all of the necessary information until indictments are filed in the federal case, or maybe not until disposition of those cases....not sure how that works....but they will have more information/evidence at some point in the future.

There have already been indictments from the Feds linked to the investigation. Hell there have even been convictions. The former mayor of Birmingham (Larry Langford) is currently in a Fed Penn for 15 years after being convicted for crimes that this investigation uncovered. The FDIC also seized a bank (Colonial BancGroup) based on evidence from the investigation. Right now they are just nibbling around the edges before they go for the real serious targets: Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor, Jimmy Rane, Paul Spina, and John C. McWhorter.
This shit goes welllllllll beyond pay for play amateur athletes which the FBI has all but said they have evidence of. We're talking major fraud, political bribery/corruption, and money laundering.

You're delusional: its' UT's conference, you're just the first fat rat at their table. And as far as packing our shit and getting out, it's OUR choice to leave so don't come across as the alcoholic extortionist bully screaming at his business partner to get out. NU asked for balanced TV revenue sharing and a lucrative contract from someone, anyone, Texas/Beebe said nope, we said bye. They were lobbying for their own TV deal. You watch, they'll get it. All the while Beebe, who lives in Dallas, will glad hand UT. That's what he's paid to do.SunCoastSooner wrote:Here come the skers... go figure.

What is humerous is the leftovers feel NU is running from, and whining about, the Texas 10. Osborne had the foresight to get off a sinking ship, the smartest rat if you will. We didn't like the taste of the cheese Texas was serving. Yes, Texas, not OU, you're this guy OU fan.

It's not only my opinion, but the over/under on the Big XII surviving at what it will look like in the 2011 season; is about 5 years me thinks. Answer me how much BCS and ESPN love OU and UT will get after the Texas State fair game. I'm sure everyone in CFB Town USA will tune in to see the Big 2 play Iowa St, Kansas St, Baylor, and Kansas on the Fox cable networks. (If they can find them.) Meanwhile, NU will get perennial powers Michigan, Penn St, Ohio St, and great supporting teams in Wisconsin, Iowa, & Michigan St; teams that would year in and year out kick those four team's collective asses I mentioned from the Big 12, as well as Okie Light and Taco Town. Didn't I just see Illinois wipe their dicks with the drapes, otherwise known as Baylor?
Nebraska is academically (save the prop 48 crap, this is the 21st century, Nebraska had to provide the Big 10 with standards that meets or exceeds their profile for acceptance, which overrides the Big 12 BTW, and did it with flying colors.) and financially secure for years to come from an athletic standpoint. We will be seen on TV through-out the nation, every game, with no PPV, (which the Big 12 was exploiting NU fan with 4-5 weeks a year for their own financial gain. I promise you this pissed off the Big 12 coffer boys when we announced were gone.) Thus NU benefits from a recruiting standpoint.
I challenge anyone to post a link with a negative take on why NU's choice was a bad one. Colorado's as well. I guarantee Missouri, who relished the idea to go to the the Big 10...would jump through flaming razor lined hoops to have the opportunity NU was afforded. The only ones hurt are the vags otherwise known as the Texas tandem, and of course the teams that have no option. I can assure you NU's fans do not feel well about leaving ISU, KSU, & Kansas to the savages, but it's survival of the fittest in this day and age unfortunately in BTCF. Texas forced our hand. They wanted NU to fall in line with the three I just mentioned, sorry NU is no Kansas St. Texas was looking for a home when we took them into the Big 8 when their corrupt SWC was in total turmoil in large part from greed. Well, you could say we left because of their greed.
They'll need to scramble in the future because of what NU and CU did to Dan Beebe and his 19th century "all things Texas" mindset.
Yes OU and UT have scoreboard the final year, I can live with it, it's done, in the past...the future is all that's left to anyone and NU fan is damn glad it's a far sight brighter than anything the Big 12 was offering up.
Ultimately, we'll have scoreboard.

you do realize that NU was against "sharing" revenue when they were good.
and OU has way more scoreboard than "the final year". the last conference championship NU won was what? in the 90's? talk about a bunched up whiny pussies.
Beebe, Texas, waaaaaaahhhhhh! we used to be good, seriously! GBR!
OU is UT's bitch in 3,2,1......
we win football games, don't complain about it on message boards.

Well, when they're going to make more money in the Big 10 sharing "with the Northwesterns, Purdues.....", yeah, they're getting over on those who are staying in the XII and getting less revenue.King Crimson wrote:[let's say i'm Nebraska, one of the all-timer programs and I'm happy sharing revenue with the Northwesterns, Purdues, and Indianas of the world.....does seem to make the "we're getting over" smack talk lack some imo.

I know it's difficult to separate the concept of the overall academics at the institution and the academics of the football team but fact of the matter is THIS is how you won...Cornhusker wrote:You're delusional: its' UT's conference, you're just the first fat rat at their table. That's what he's paid to do.SunCoastSooner wrote:Here come the skers... go figure.
just pack your shit and get the fuck out of OUr conference... asap.

I used this link because it is a perfect example of the incendiary and fraudulent claims Nebraska's administration and fans have been making for years, not months, YEARS! I skipped over the first part of his question because it deserves it very own beating in the future and I wanted to remain in proper time line with my first thread.AustinHuskr @Huskerpedia wrote: 2) Why were all the rules tilted towards ut when the B12 was formed? Why did the 4 trashy SWC rejects swallow the 8 Big8 schools that invited them in (BTW)? PLEASE don't tell me it's the same reason why NU is looking to move to the B10 ($$$ and TV eye balls).
3) How can there be no bylaws that govern the blatent bias towards ut when it comes to admission requirements, the B12 title game, etc?
2)The rules were never tilted toward Texas, they moved back to being in line and fair from being tilted toward NEBRASKA for the previous quarter century! It wasn't evil Texass that didn't want Prop 48 athletes; Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma had been trying to force Prop 48 out of the conference since at least the Mid 80s. The Prop 48 issue was the straw that OU and OSU used to break the camel's back and bring Kansas and Missouri out of the Nebraska camp with stories of football, basketball, and magical Unicorns used by three much smaller schools to trod on the largest alumni base and flagship school of the 2nd largest state in the Union. These guys are doctorate level educated people and Nebraska actually thought this plan would float long term when even half of their old school buddies didn't really agree with them on the majority of the issues? Is Corn Cult really so self absorbed and delusional that the southern schools weren't going to call their outlandish bluff with all the cards showing on the table? Obviously the answer is a resounding yes as we have all seen. Nebraska basically said it was unfair that Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado state schools could actually recruit athletes who could could pass high school level courses much less college and in their own home states and neighbors... THE HORRAH, THE HORRAH!!! Nebraska, and especially Tom Osbourne, knew they could no longer dominate other schools without kids who couldn't spell cat if you spotted them two letters in succession. Nebraska had already lost their supposed "walk on" program to NCAA scholarship limitations eliminating the ability to hold a roster still well over 120 players a season while the rest of us were happy when we had 85 to 90 because they were "academic" scholarships mandated by their state legislature for "County academics". Look at the 1996 Nebraska Cornhuskers National title team... 141 players on the Cornhusker roster, over SIXTY "walk ons" and that was just roster size. Look at the actual players Tommy Frazier, Derek Brown, Ahman Green, Lawrence Phillips, Michael Booker,Christian Peter, Tyrone Williams, Jared Tomich, Reggie Baul, and Jamel Williams were ALL ACADEMIC NON QUALIFIERS without their blatant use of prop 48 back doors!!! Nebraska's argument was that Prop 48 was the reason the Big 8 was so successful at the time and previously... *cough* bullshit *cough*. Colorado was number 5 in the country and had six prop 48s on their entire roster which was second leading in the conference, Kansas State was 7th with three prop 48s, and Kansas was #9 with only a single prop 48 player on their team who wasn't even a starter. Is there anyone in their right mind who believes that Nebraska would have been just as dominating over everyone else if the playing field were leveled to where they had to play under the same requirements, guidelines, and expectations as the rest of us had to do so? Would they have been as fresh and deep throughout the season if they didn't have over fifty more players on their roster than any other team in the conference? Would they have been steam rolling their opponents if they hadn't been STARTING or playing extensively more Prop 48s than any other school in not just the conference but the entire country had on their ENTIRE teams? Who knows, but I for one seriously doubt it! Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor only wanted what many of the rest of us had been calling for for over a decade already! They wanted kids playing college ball who could to at least some extent reasonably attend college. Nebraska simply didn't want to be bothered with the same limitations that nearly every other Big 8 school had ALREADY been enduring for countless years; smaller rosters, fewer scholarships, and kids who passed high school classes and entrance exams! Once again... THE HORRAH, THE HORRAH! Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado simply took on new allies on an issue they had already been on the other side of Nebbitch of for nearly a generation and turned the tide of the argument. God for fucking bid should the rest of our institutions take back a little bit of the power over our own destiny's that Nebraska had come to assume was their God given right to control in the few previous years.
3) Blatantly bias by laws? What bias by laws? I only see bitching about recruiting. No shit the Texas schools have a larger player pool in their own back yard... THEY'RE THE SECOND LARGEST STATE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY! They have a population that outnumbers the rest of our state's populations COMBINED! That's not an unfair by law, that's demographics. More people want to or must live there for one reason or another whatever it may be. Look at your own fucking screen name you fucking rube... you live in AUSTIN, TEXAS not BFE, Nebraska your own self. Every other institution in the old Big 8 was accepting the same scenario as you. You weren't being singled out, you were just butt hurt that we would rather play ball games under conditions that weren't set by and in favor for yourselves and instead equaled out amongst all the parties involved. Look at the rosters throughout the conference it isn't just the Texas schools making way with the talent it is everyone. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Colorado, and even NEBRASKA all have a major number of players from Texas; hell New Mexico, NMSU, Tulsa, LSU, and Arkansas all do as well!
That's the only argument they have to fall back on when the facts are exposed... while they ignore the fact that the SEC invited Oklahoma into their fold whose contracts dwarf those of the Big Teletwelve. They ignore the fact it isn't just Texas getting its own network and Oklahoma is in negotiations with Fox and Cox for its own network as well.King Crimson wrote:you do realize that NU was against "sharing" revenue when they were good.

We don't have scoreboard "the final year" we have eternal scoreboard on Nebraska. We lead the series, we have more titles, and we were easily the most dominant team during the twelve team era of the conference, the last decade of play together Nebraska was our bitch, plain and simple.
Tuck your tail and run away to be Ohio State's bitch since you're so tired of being our bitch and the evil Crimson/Burnt Orange empire treated you so unfairly.
Nebraska was the detriment to this conference; not Texas, not Oklahoma, not ESPN/ABC, not anyone else. Corn worshiper was all for the revenue sharing in 1994 and 1995 when they were on top of the world, "all class", and collecting fat checks. As soon as the tables turned when Oklahoma and Texas brought in new coaches and rebuilt their programs their fans went from class to ass and the tune their athletic department danced to changed. Nebraska assumed when this conference was formed they could cash unlimited checks on the backs of the Oklahoma's and Texas' of the conference. When things didn't turn out that way in their own little fantasy land they crawled away on their yellow bellies while Sooners and Whorns dug their cleats in their backs.
Fact of the matter is that Oklahoma will collect the largest payout from the Big 12 in football this season for the third time in the last five years; we played more games on television, more games on national television, and getting a double share payout from a BCS Bowl game after kicking your asses yet again. Oklahoma is getting the largest payout, not Texas, not Texas A&M, not Colorado, and certainly not Nebitch... OKLAHOMA!
Even if this conference does eventually fall apart one of two things occur: 1) we end up in a super conference which includes the two largest state's in the union and geographic map that encompasses 1/2 of the continental United States or 2) We roll out to the conference with the largest television contracts in the country with our Crimson brothers in Tuscaloosa while you're still sucking Columbus and Ann Arbor dicks for hand outs. That's survival of the fittest. Nebraska tried and failed to get their way and when they got owned they cried and ran away.
Fuck off, go collect your welfare check from Ohio State and Michigan, and get the hell out of OUr conference.

Re: Board bitch 2010??
Revenue sharing wasn't a concession to Texass as Nebitch tries to portray. Revenue sharing was Nebraska's idea. It was a concession because of all their crying after they lost out in arguments of admitting Baylor and Texas Tech along with UT and aTm as well as getting Prop 48 axed. Revenue sharing policies only became unfair to the corn cult when they were no longer the program getting to cash those checks and OU and Texas were the ones depositing them in the bank.Mace wrote:No, I did not know that (although it wouldn't surprise me in the least), but what I do know is that they're going to get an equal share in the Big 10 and that they're good with that.King Crimson wrote:you do realize that NU was against "sharing" revenue when they were good.
Have fun with their whiny asses Mace. Oklahoma will be just fine without them both in the immediate future and the long term and we won't have to deal with their crying and shitty under 35/40 y/o fan base. We got their best years and you're marrying the old maid with the spoiled grandchildren all living in the basement.

At this point in time, I'm happy to have Nebraska in the conference and think they make the Big 10 better in the same way that adding PSU did. I'm also happy to have them so that we can now have a CCG, but I don't think for one second that Nebraska will dominate their division, let alone the conference, any more than Penn State has been able to do since joining the league. Should the problems you describe arise in the coming seasons, you will see the response from the Big 10 posters here first and get to say "I told you so".

Iowa did not win games they shouldn't have. Instead, they lost games they shouldn't have. The Penn State and Iowa games were games they needed the other team to completely screw up to win. Iowa had like 13 points in the 4th quarter and had about 6 possessions inside the Michigan 30. We fumbled snaps, we muffed a punt, dropped some easy passes, etc..... It was an epic meltdown by a mediocre team. And that was a fluke ending to the Penn State game. Plus, they needed OT to beat an average Michigan State team.Killian wrote:And they proved that they would probably lose to the good ones.TheJON wrote:My point is this......
Iowa proved we can play with any team in the country.
JON, you make these claims about Iowa, yet dismiss anyone else who brings up other teams who had similar situations. Off the top of my head, I can think of 4 or 5 Notre Dame teams that were very similar. mclub brought up Michigan in 2005, yet that’s not the same thing. I would wager that Michigan 2005 was closer to going to the MNC game than Iowa 2010, based on UofM’s play and record in 2006. If Iowa rips off an 11-1 season in 2011, maybe I’ll change my tune.
Their 1 good win was Penn State in a fluke. Iowa's 1 good win was a blowout of a Top 10 team. Michigan did not lead with a few minutes to play in their games.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that 2005 Michigan isn't a good comparison. It actually is. But that team got quite a few breaks and 2010 Iowa did not. The main comparison is both of those teams SHOULD have been better than their record indicated. Both teams greatly underachieved.
As for Notre Dame, I really can't recall one year of great comparisons. I know you've lost some tough games (ie last year) in certain years, but name me a year where you lost a bunch of close games but didn't also win a bunch of close games. You did have 6 close losses last year, but you had 4 games that you won that could have gone another way. The previous 3 years, the majority of your losses were by double digits. 2005 you had the heartbreaking MSU and USC losses, but then you got rolled in the bowl game and did end up 9-3 (much better than 7-5). 2004.....a few blowouts. 2003....ditto. 2002.....2 of the 3 losses were blowouts. 2001.....a couple blowouts. 2000......9-3 with a bowl blowout loss. 1999.....3 double digit losses. 1998.....2 double digit losses. I'm not going back further.
11 losses over a 3 year period by a combined 40 points is a tough pill to swallow and I think you would be hard pressed to find another team over the last 20 years or so that's had a string of 11 losses (regardless of the time period) where they lost by that few of points. 11 losses by LESS THAN 4 points a game..........damn man. Fucking brutal!!
OMG man I feel your pain.

In all fairness (and we all know it's obvious I am no Nebitch apologist) The Big 12 had four teams finish in the top 10 the inaugural season of the Big 12 and they were all from the North Division; Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Kansas State.
Texas A&M was set to be the dominating force in the south but faltered. Oklahoma and Texas rebuilt their programs in the early stages and the power base shifted. What really killed the North division is when Snyder retired at KState.
