I had a similar problem a few years ago and ended up taking my son to another town to a sports bar so we could watch the NC game.
Maybe God is trying to spare you the pain of watching Oregon win the game, 'Spray. :)

There ya go, 'Spray. If you'd like to drive all the way to Iowa, you can watch the game at my house. The beer is on me.King Crimson wrote:get in the car, drive south, find a motel. get some beer and bourbon, the number for delivery pizza...get it on.

Does Georgia DOT even have the equipment, or enough of it, to clear the roads after a snow/ice storm? We have plenty of equipment and manpower up here to handle the roads but, in the event of a huge ice storm, have had utility companies from neighboring states provide manpower and equipment to lend a hand.

when i was in Nashville (which is not GA obviously), the couple times we had freezing precip...the city shut down. hillbillies didn't even TRY and drive different....sliding over curbs and into stop signs. worse than Oklahoma even.Mace wrote:Does Georgia DOT even have the equipment, or enough of it, to clear the roads after a snow/ice storm? meanwhile further up the Gulf Stream the back end of that system left us about 10 inches of snow over the weekend in Denver/Boulder. At CU, where classes started today, that means the students all go up to the mountains to snowboard and claim they were stuck in the airport after visiting their ailing grammaw....all week.

Cut the shit, Sam. Nobody thinks you're rooting for Oregon.

i think it's win-win for SS re: this board. If UO wins: "Hey, I hate Auburn"...and he probably does in his meat space life. If AU wins: SECBSH4EVER.
despite all the conversation about it last year and in 05 vis a vis "conference loyalty". i did not even flinch in pulling against Texas in both BCS games. F the conference loyalty shit, that's just a recent ESPN induced hype stupor in the Southeast. an AU win means a lot for recruiting...it puts AU on equal ground with Bama....which as a Bama fan you want Nick to be able to walk into any living room in Alabama with that ring...and if Chiz has got one, too, it's on. Texas winning in 05, same deal.
there has to be an eeeensy bit of that in Sam, still.

Was just listening to The Herd in the car over lunch. McIlroy was in studio with Cowherd. Cowherd asks him if he'll be rooting for the Ducks in this game. McIlroy is at least honest. His was was something like:
I actually said out loud, "SEC! SEC! SEC!" and got a little chuckle.First and foremost I'm obviously a Bama fan and will always be, but next in line is the SEC. I'll always root for the SEC over anyone else.

I know he picked Oregon to win. However, he said he would be rooting for Auburn. Picking a winner and rooting interest are not mutually exclusive. Tell me you knew.

Dude, if football is religion down there as y'all say, there is no way in living hell you'd have settled for listening on the radio. Hell, I'd drive to IF's house and watch on one his 87 tvs if it came down to it.
