Diego, any advice...thoughts?

Post by Go Coogs' »

This is about a coworker of mine whom I work closely with. We run the same unit; we're just on different shifts. He was arrested Friday for allegedly tying up his 7-year old daughter with duct tape and rope and then sexually assaulted her. The probable cause affidavit said the 7-year old told authorities this happened to her on four different occasions. His wife (mother of the child) was arrested for failing to report the assaults and was charged for a Class A misdemeanor. My coworker was released on $20,000 bond (likely $2000 to post). He's facing 25 to life without the eligibility of parole if convicted.

He showed up to work for the weekend working Saturday and Sunday night. I told my Shift Leader that dude should not be here whether he is innocent or not. We deal heavily with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in our plant and all it takes is being exposed to that stuff for about 30 seconds and thats a wrap. You fall into a peaceful sleep never to wake again. In other words you can take your own life as well as others without even trying.

When I relieved him this morning dude told me everything. [His side of the story]It turns out he and his wife are going through a nasty divorce. She planted rope and duct tape toghether in a box in the garage. She convinced her daughter to corroborate her story and the arrest was made. My coworker says he had suspicions his wife was up to something, but wasn't sure what. He said he had been working so much lately that he never really gave it much thought. He hires a 'Super' Lawyer and gives them a shitload of money up front and just wants to clear his name. He said he would never do anything to harm his children. His three children are now in his in-laws custody and he can't lay eyes on them until September 4th. He also says he found a prepaid cell phone that was used by his wife. Interesting.[/his side of the story]

He didn't come to work Monday night and the schedule shows some overtime for others covering his shift in the short term. I'm assuming he is suspended until further notice. I'm not sure if it's with or without pay though. I'm sure he'll call me and let me know.

Anyways, I don't think this dude is capable of committing this crime. He's a damn good employee and a decent guy overall. The only thing that's wrong with him is he's a little bipolar. If he gets upset about something he'll fly off the wheel and start ranting and raving about some nonsense. But I don't think that makes him a monster. If you pull him to the side and talk to him calmly and quietly, he'll listen to what you have to say. I suppose I believe his side of the story more than the affidavit. I'm not 100% in his corner, but I'm 97% sure he didn't do this. We'll see how it plays out.

Rumps,

You probably should address questions regarding the duct tape and rope approach to Tardowen. Diego seems more like a candy/small puppies kind of pervert.

I think at that point you have to give the guy the benefit of the doubt assuming he doesn't have a history of past abuse. There is no lie too shameless or bald faced for an ugly divorce.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

My advice is to invest in some real equiptment.

They're located in Wisconsin, by the way. So you know that they've got their shit down with years of experience and thousands upon thousands of helpless victims.
Coincidentally, I know the guy that owns the company. Helpless victims? Mostly criminals and nutcases. I believe you’d qualify either way.

It's starting to get ugly. Articles are coming out in the small town fish wraps painting an ugly picture of this guy. They even did some photoshopping on his mugshot. And no, I'm not going to post any links.

Dude called me and told me the company is suspending him without pay. Sucks for him if he is actually innocent. The other bad thing is his father-in-law is a Shift Supervisor on another shift here at work. Neither my coworker or his wife are allowed to see the children until September 4th, so the kids are staying with the father-in-law and his wife. What is really strange about this story (since the kids are shacked up at the wife's parents house), the wife has to stay somewhere else, so she is staying at another employee's home. Who is the employee? It's my coworker's buddy who works directly under the father-in-law on the same shift. Does any of this make sense?

Basically, we have three operators affected by this story. I'm not sure where the father-in-law's loyalty lies in all of this. If he thinks his daughter is lying, then this could create a conflict of interest on his shift with his daughter staying with an operator that works directly under him. Their shift has been on a seven day "long-change" and are due to return back to work tonight. The father-in-law took vacation, so he's not due back at work until next Friday. I guess we'll find out if those two can continue working on the same shift considering the circumstances.

This shit is fucked up.

Truly shocking that Tardowen hasn't yet suggested that the sex may have been consensual.

I'm not surprised. I don't have anything to hide, so Google away. I just work with these people. I don't live in their communities nor do I hang out with them during my off-time. I live 76 miles away from work.

Sin,

Me (in the past, anyway)

I definitely don't recommend that type of commute, if you can avoid it.

When I lived in H-Town it seemed like I had to drive 76 miles just to get to the Stop-N-Go.

You've got to drive your ass off to get just about anywhere in that dump.
