Does the training involve running away?

Assuming you run in the right direction (either side of the missile), it doesn't hurt. I guess both the ejection and flight motors failed. Weird shit and scary. I know I'd shit my pants if it just blooped out of the tube right in front of me.

I had a hang fire with a Redeye which has a much smaller warhead than Eyrx. The Army was getting rid of its old stock so our battery got 8 missiles to fire. I tracked the target, fired and....nothing. Fired again...nothing. It finally fired on the third try but if it hadn't, I would have to walk that bitch downrange, carefully set it down and then withdraw at combat speed (ie run) to the side of the missile.
