Huntingdon County (Ind.) prosecutors charged Bodkin with practicing medicine without a license, according to Huntington County Prosecutor Amy Richison, who was chief deputy prosecutor at the time.

“All of the castrations were done to adult males,” Richison said. “There was no sign of (Bodkin) dealing with child pornography at that time. None of his patients were underage.”

Sounds to me like all he was doing in Indiana was castrating consenting adults. Wasn’t till he got down south that he took to child pornography. Y’all are a bad influence I guess.

KENNER, La. -- A 3-month-old boy will likely have permanent neurological defects after Kenner police said the father threw the infant in a fit of frustration.

Kenner police arrested Tyler Jonathan Eastgate, 22, after doctors at Ochsner Kenner notified police of possible child abuse.

According to police, Eastgate was home babysitting his son on Monday and grew upset when the infant wouldn't stop crying.

Eastgate told police and hospital staff that he found his son in his room having trouble breathing, seizing and losing consciousness.

Doctors at Ochsner found that the baby had suffered bleeding on the brain, brusies to his cheek, chin and chest, police said. The victim also had several scratches and bruises to his neck in a hand pattern, according to police.

Doctors told police that the injuries were a result of blunt force trauma, as in being violently thrown down.

After interrogating Eastgate, Kenner police said the father admitted that out of frustration from his infant son's constant crying, he threw the baby against the wall, causing him to strike his head. When the baby didn’t stop crying, police said, Eastgate struck his son in the face and threw him into his crib, causing him to hit his head a second time. Eastgate also told police that on a separate occasion he accidentally dropped the baby causing him to hit his head on the floor.

Investigators said that due to the injuries, the boy will likely have permanent neurological defects from the trauma.

Police arrested Eastgate on charges of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. Eastgate remains in custody and no bond has been set.

Uniformed female sheriff's deputies held Jesslyn Lirette's hands as she walked to the courthouse Tuesday for her longtime boyfriend's first hearing on charges of killing and decapitating their disabled 7-year-old son.

Lafourche Parish deputies escorted Jeremiah Lee Wright, whose hands were manacled to his waist. He stared but did not speak when reporters and photographers asked if he had anything to say about Jori Lirette's death.

Wright, 30, was assigned defense attorney Kerry Cuccia, director of the Capital Defense Project of Southeast Louisiana at the hearing, which was required within 72 hours of arrest to ask whether the person can pay an attorney.

That appointment doesn't mean prosecutors are sure to seek capital punishment, Cuccia said.

Any time someone is booked with first-degree murder, "we try to get involved at the very beginning," he said. The district attorney will decide whether to ask a grand jury to charge Wright with first-degree murder and to seek capital punishment.

District Attorney Camille A. "Cam" Morvant did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press.

Thibodaux Police Chief Scott Silverii said Monday that Wright waived his right to an attorney on Sunday and confessed to killing Jori, who had been born three months premature and had numerous medical problems and very limited speech.

The motive was unclear, but Wright, whose bond has been set at $5 million, said he was tired of caring for the boy, the police chief said.

Silverii said the boy's feet and one hand also were cut off, recovered in several white plastic garbage bags. A preliminary autopsy indicated Jori also had been bludgeoned, he said.

The chief said Jori's head was left by the side of the road so that Lirette, 27, would see it when she came home. By the time she arrived, police were already there and had removed the head.

Wright's only explanation for doing so was "just that he wanted her to feel stupid when she saw the head," Silverii said.
