McDaniels was the guy pushing for the Tebow trade...

McDaniels might be one of the few who can make Tebow a plausible NFL QB, if it is possible. The others? Andy Reid & John Gruden.

So, okay, exactly how many years do you want to give Tebow

Years would be good. He's only had FOUR STARTS and some situational play here and there, you fucking idiot.

He's done pretty well. His completion percentage needs to improve but he finds the endzone a lot (17TDs) and takes care of the ball (3 turnovers). Those aren't the numbers of a failed experiment. Period. EOS.

Projects are not football lifers who spent fours years playing for Urban Meyer at the University of Florida. Guys like that are supposed to be fairly finished specimins who merely require a bit of time to acclimate to the different speed and expanded playbooks of the NFL game.

the biggest issue for any young QB in the NFL will always be the ability to make quick, correct reads. In that regard, his time at Florida did nothing to prepare him for what he'll need to be able to do in the NFL. His responsibilities as a Gator QB simply didn't involve any pro-style reads, and he was never under pro-style defensive pressure.

the only problem with running that kind of an offense, is that you need a defense that can limit your opponents to 20.4 pts per game...Denver doesn't have that kind of defense....Fox opts for a slug-it out approach and in the long run, that's just not going to work with the personnel Denver has....

Felix, you clearly missed the part where I laid out the real—and only—reason mvscal is behaving so out of character regarding Tebow. It has nothing to do with Tebow playing for Denver and everything to do with mvscal having to jock the guy after backing himself into a corner in the college football forum.

mvscal's ego is so large that he'd rather root for a Denver QB than have to admit he was wrong. Along the way, he knows Denver poses no threat to San Diego, especially with Tebow playing QB. He can afford to be a bit benevolent there. It's merely passive AFC West condescension.

McGahee is out for Sunday and Tebow won't beat the Lions with his arm...the Lions are 9th in passing yards allowed per game and +2 in INT to TD through the air. All he did last week was will out a win against an awful team. He'll make a few plays and get the crowd into it but the Lions should be a TD or two better than them. If the Lions lose Sunday, I don't think they finish over .500. It's one of the last few "should win" games.

Oh, if I were a college coach, I'd want Tebow on my team. I'd find a spot for him somewhere, and if I ran the spread or Wildcat I'd give up my firstborn to land him.

If I'm an NFL coach? Pretty much, the same thing. Last I checked, though, no one in the NFL runs a spread offense, and the Wildcat is but a fading gimmick. Unless Tebow is willing to line up behind the QB and in front of the TB, or maybe outside the tackle, he has no place in the league.

Man, Trent Dilfer is just lighting Tebow up right now, ripping on his lack of accuracy. "You throw the ball where the receiver is going to be, not where he is at the time you're throwing the ball! This guy simply does not anticipate."

Tebow looked good on Denver's first possession. A good scramble and a couple nicely throw balls down field, one of which was called an incompletion in the end zone, which I actually thought was a TD. Then it was all downhill from there. Same deal as last outing - awful for 99% of the game, which is going to result in resounding defeat 99% of the time in the NFL.

I saw the stat:

Tebow has been sacked 14 times in 2 games.
Orton was sacked 9 times in 5 games.

This is a very big problem.

Sacks are a killer for an offense.
But they, as opposed to throwing the ball away (incompletes), keep the QB rating... up.

Oh, he had plenty of incomplete passes, as well. That stirring 56.8 passer rating didn't happen by accident. Yep, taking one's sweet time before (hopefully) getting off a wildly errant pass is a surefire recipe for NFL success.
