Ouch. Major props to the Buckeyes, they showed up ready to play. It sure helps having Herron back in the lineup. Two weeks in a row Russell Wilson brought the Badgers back from two-score second half deficits, and two weeks in a row the defense (specifically, the defensive backs) have let Wisky down. The Badgers really miss Dave Doeren.

And while the offensive line looks really good on paper, it’s just nowhere near as good as last year’s. 89 yards rushing? The Buckeye defense gets a lot of credit there, but still…

However, I’m a glass half full kind of guy so I have to look at the positives.

1. Maybe this will take Bielema down a notch or two. He’s gotten awful full of himself. He’s the one who encouraged the national title talk this year, and now he’ll be scrambling to make the Outback Bowl. I still think he can be a very good coach, he just needs to own his mistakes and learn from them.

2. Hopefully this will shut up some of the local Johnny-come-lately bandwagon fans. After the MSU loss ended the NCG talk, and they looked at the bowl possibilities, and there were actually people saying, “Not the Rose Bowl again.” Un. Fucking. Believable.

3. Despite all that’s happened to them over the past 12 months, the Buckeyes are still a quality team. Michigan is rebounding nicely from the Rich Rod era. The conference is better off when those two bluebloods are strong. Michigan, tOSU, Wisconsin, MSU, PSU, Nebraska and Illinois have all been rated at some point this year; five of them still are. If none of them take a step back next year, some of them improve, and Iowa returns to form, the B1G could be as strong as any conference in the nation.

And the inaugural Big Ten Championship Game just might feature the only two teams who never played in a 10-team Big Ten. Damn.

we should probably finish 9-3 and possibly steal a bowl victory to get to 10 wins. looks good but, uh, wait till next year and our ridiculous schedule then the year after when we wake up to find there are only three offensive lineman on the roster. this year is just a reprieve from the last three. you won't hear from us for another two afterwards.

On the uniform thing: Ohio State should be ashamed. All of their new looks have been hideous. But the main thing is their tradition, their history. No school of that level should go that route. I'd be embarrassed if I was a Buckeye.
