Nice living, dorks.

greetings from the exit 67 mcD's. douchebag, if you are out there, get here quick. the luckystar bus stopps across the street at burger king.

Glad all you fukkers missed me.

Holly mother of fukkk!!!!!!!

This is the most fukked up thing I have ever seen.

6 inches of very wet snow on oak trees that have not shed their leaves is a very.....very.....very...... bad thing.

As you have already heard, CL&P abandoned my ass about 9PM saturday evening. Went to bed hoping that it wouldn't be too bad.

It wasn't. It was fukking worse.

Got up sunday morning, went down stairs and looked out side. Hmmmm, the plow hasn't been through. That's weird.

So, i got dressed and walked out to the street. Looked one way, limbs/power lines in road. Looked the other way, limbs in the road. Limbs in my yard, limbs in the street. Motherfukking oak tree limbs EVERYFUKKINGWHERE!!!!!.

Fortunately, one direction was passable. So those with 4X4 that made it to my house had to turn around in my drive and head back. As soon as a pickup with a plow on it did that I asked if he'd be kind enough to drop his blade on the way out. He did. So, now at least I can go into town and get my caffeine fix.

Yeah, right. Had to turn around a few times as half the fukking roads in town were blocked. No power, nowhere. Went to mom in laws as she never looses power with a substation in her back yard. No power.

Finally got coffee in west hartford ,which is a good 25 miles away. This shit is crazy. certainly will be no shortage of firewood for a few years as about half of the oak tree biomass in northern ct is on the fukking ground.

i figure i will have power by thanksgiving.

fortunately work has power. well, they don't have CL&P supplied power. they got twin bigass caterpillar v-12 turbodiesels. damn those fukkers are nice. they run our entire place, which swallows watts like pickle swallows jizz in an nba locker room. was talking with Roger, our HMFIC today. asked if he was broke from buying diesel yet. he said they actually do pretty well. about 80-85 gallons an hour. sounds like a lot, but we use at least 3.1 jiggawatts/hr. i was surprised they do that well.

well, fukksticks, time to head back into the darkness.

ciao.

I'm not a huge fan of snow myself, but it won't kill you if you're prepared for it.

OTOH, I've never been in an earthquake, tornado or hurricane. I'm not sure any of the weather pussies can make that claim. And those things can kill you.

This time, I got spared, as the storm tracked to the east of me. Five years ago, I wasn't so lucky. As smackaholic says, six inches of very wet snow on trees that haven't yet shed their leaves is a very bad thing. And snow and lightning at the same time is just plain freaky, especially if it's occurring while you're trying to drive.

And here I thought your  would be for his "I'm not a huge fan of snow myself..."

Either you're slipping in your old age or, like a hardcore junkie, your tolerance is such that it takes a much larger hit before you notice anything.

Nah, it comes and goes.

Like for instance, your use of "your" in the above quote is unnecessary, since "you're" already established me as the subject, rendering the possessive redundant.

But that would just be splitting hairs.

Minus the 'your' I'd probably want to reconfigure the sentence to avoid a rather stilted awkwardness.

Either old age sees you slipping...

Either you're slipping due to old age...

Either you're slipping on the results of old-age induced incontinence...

nice family you got there ana. that pic could be from my house, just need to have 3/4 of the limbs in that oak tree behind them on the ground. well, OK, it would need a lawn mower and a few extension cords too.

did the storm do any tree damage up your way?

I don't know about that. A lot of leaves got blown off the trees prematurely. The entire Fall foliage viewing tourist season has been obliterated as a result. The economic losses of that no doubt will be in the multi-millions. Luckily, our governor has sucked Obama off nice enough to secure disaster relief for this terrible disaster.
the foliage was already the shit due to a very rainy summer/fall and recent warm weather. and all those leaves falling didn't knock any wires down unless they were still attached to limbs, which is the way they fell up this way.
