If your girlfriend or wife or in Poptart's case... ummmm friend... ever says your wasting your time posting about College Football on the Internet...

...just show them this article and let them know that you just saved the country from the worst pedophile in U.S. History and the most (Despicable college and town the in the World)... even the Catholic Church is jealous of that institution...
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — A critical break in the investigation of Jerry Sandusky came via a posting on the Internet: a random mention that a Penn State football coach, years before, might have seen something ugly, but kept silent.
Working off the brief mention on an Internet forum where people chatted about Penn State athletics, according to the two people with knowledge of the case, investigators narrowed their list of coaches likely to have seen something to Mike McQueary, then an assistant coach and the football program’s recruiting coordinator.

Coverup, moral vacuum, conspiracy of cowardly silence...fill in the blanks....

By the way... an EXCELLENT article.

Fuck - so you're a pedo chamber expert, too? Glad you're in Asia.
suppose i can't criticize you for a 5th grade sense of humor if that's the last grade you finished. not surprising either that an area of the country where basic nutrition, evolution, genetics, math, and US history has been stricken from its curricula has purged actual wit as well.

I hate it because the man has done an awful lot of good, but this trumps everything. This is the worst shit that could possibly ever happen related to a college football program...or anywhere else for that matter.

Has this already been posted? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/16/sport ... .html?_r=1

Paterno knew this was coming down and was making preparations for it. A logical move, no doubt and a sensible one, but...man, oh man. Talk about a legacy shot to hell.
As I have said numerous times, I agree with the assertion that Paterno failed his moral obligations - which does make him a POS, and undermines his legacy forever in my book.

As for the article about selling his house - interesting, but not at all surprising. This was done in July, the investigation has been going on for at least two years.

There's no doubt in my mind that the Paternos got a VERY generous property value assessment.

Holy shit...
Another bizarre tradition at PSU was the coaches showered together after each practice and game. We never did this at Brown or at URI and my coaching friends never experienced this on their staffs. It was one of the many things at PSU that made me realize there was something very strange about the program and its staff.
I always thought that at some point, an assistant coach or someone on the inside would finally shed some light on the workings of the program, and it would be ugly. This is the first time, to my knowledge, that this has happened.

In the interests of fairness, this from a player:
I was on that '87 team ('84-'87) and I never saw Sandusky act oddly towards the players. I also never heard of this guy unless it was not the '87 team he was a GA for (or I have no memory of him) which was my last year. Sandusky was a very enthusiastic coach with high energy but showed no signs (imo) of overt crossing of boundary lines.
I also worked one summer at one of the 2nd Miles therapeutic foster homes. I didn't see a lot of him that summer
or never heard any rumors. I can't speak to the allegations of his behavior around children because I really never saw him around kids much in my role.

As for Joe having absolute power and knowing all on campus is not true imo. What he did know was when we skipped classes- He knew the guys that were not taking seriously and he watched them closely (I know- I was one of them at the time). I also think he had mandatory drug testing before the NCAA required it. He caught me trying to work at the Gaff and I was told never to do it again lol. So yes Joe was a hard *** but EVERYTHING he monitored was related to school, how we represent ourselves as student-athletes, what our plans were, etc, etc. He did want us to make a difference outside of football. I had made some pre-season All American teams going into my senior year but Joe told me I had to get a 3.0 GPA or I wouldn't play. I was eligible by NCAA standards but not byJoePa standards. I had a run in with a prof that really didn't like F-Ball players (yes some do exist) and he gave me a bad grade which I appealed. Joe was actually going to try and Redshirt me if I didn't complete the required work. I missed most of camp and finally got the grade up. Now understand this, I did not get along with Joe while I was there and he still rode my back. I brought his sacred grad rates down and he still kept it up. The most telling JoePa I knew and can describe was that I never graduated from PSU but everytime I would go back for a game his (and other coaches) first question was "did you graduate?" Drove me crazy until I finally did lol.
I was one of 100+ guys on the team- Now I'm not sure how many hours in a day you all have to review everyone and everything around you. Joe was 60 yrs old then and running a major program. Between practice, recruiting, speaking, raising a family, and everything else- there is NO WAY had control over every and anything. IMO he focused on what he cared passionately about Football and his vision of what it could and should be like. He may have trusted others to do their jobs and they failed not only him but the kids( which I hear so little about and it sickens me).
I have 6 kids (some medicaly fragile) and work full time. I can't tell you what my best friend does from day to day and when he goes home. I am tired from the grind and I'm 45- I'm not sure how much information Joe could process and then be able to see into the future and somehow know Sandusky was (allegedly) a serial pedophile?
I have been in and out of all of those buildings with my kids on game day and I walked by people who had idea who I was or vice verse and was never asked. I have walked into the locker room to say hi to Spider or others. I have never seen Sandusky there (not saying he wasn't) or JoePa for that matter.
What I do know is that if JoePa had known what we all may know now, he would have never turned his back on a kid being abused.
Lastly, those asst coaches worked for Joe - though he was very loyal to them regarding employment, I did not see Joe "buddy-buddy" with any of them. There was a mutual respect for their efforts and successes. What they did off time I can't speak to though. I have seen him call out coaches (Jerry & others ) and tear into them like he did players. He gave everyone an opportunity to prove themselves and that was about it and all we should have expected.

I kept close with some guys still working there and they did tell me Joe had mellowed over time because the kids were different (which was true) and he adjusted as well- Just wanted to put my 2C in.

nice brilliantly white entry walk though.....

That and I can see a conveniently located house like where the Paternos live could fetch a fair price because investors could rent it out room by room and make an absolute killing, and we're not talking $325/month for a room in Kalamazoo when I was in school.

NIce piece PSU, but I point to this
IMO he focused on what he cared passionately about Football and his vision of what it could and should be like.
His desire to maintain his vision and reputation of his program and how it was run took priority. Given what it took priority over, that sickens me.

Actually, it has a sunken living room with a champagane carpet, burghundy supple leather couch, and a nice mahogany bar, fully stocked with makers mark, chivas, crown, and tanquerey, the foyer is all marble, with an absolutely stunning chandeleir from france,
The kitchen is nothing special, although it has a throwback from the 70's, a lime green trash compactor, HOLY CRAP!!
ALSO, instead of modern Flat screen tv's?? He's got old style heavy cabinet tube televisions from the 1960's and 70's!!!
The bedrooms and bathrooms are all stuck in the 70's as well, wallpapered throughout, I felt like this was a "time-capsule". I fully expected to see Monty Hall and Bob Barker in flannel robes sharing a scotch or manhattan.
Finally, and for reasons unbeknownest to me, the basement was "off limits". I would have liked to have seen the cellar, BUT, again, I wasnt going to press the issue.
If you ask me, 600,000 for this home is actually a "low-ball" figure. Based on the icon who lives there,
I'd be willing to easily pay another 50 or 60 grand. Again, the trees and the overall landscaping had me sold from the gitgo.

So you'd overpay for a house that, in your admittance, hasn't been updated since the 70s, because a pedo enabler used to live there? What the fuck is wrong with you? I am CONVINCED you are an LTS TRN2 troll. Your stupidity and ignorance is mindblowing. If I were conservative, I'd be ashamed of you.

The giant piece of LARD is too stupid to realize there are only about 20 people that post on this board and everyone knows what's being posted in every forum...

What I love most, though, is that it's the avatar of a highly respected Grand Poobah of Louisiana law. I mean, this isn't some Joe the Plumber posting that thing as his avatar. No, it's the Honorary Major of New Orleans, the guy whose posted photos here always depict him shaking hands with Thurgood Marshall, Huey Long, or some shit.

That guy chose as his avatar a proper Cajun slut. Nice.

A secret compartment in the resolute desk? I'll bet there is another secret compartment with our nation's secrets, like who killed JFK, and what kind of mascara J edgar preferred.
You are so full of shit, that I dont know if I should play along, or notify the CIA.

Why do you care so much about Joe Pa's home? It almost sounds like you'd like to know whats in his basement. Just because its "off limits", does not mean there was a kiddy diddling chamber down there. For all we know, he could have had rare works of art or a priceless wine cellar down there.
BUT, for some strange reason, I think Felix secretly wishes that the former was the case. You'd masturbate to the mere thought that Joe Pa and Jerrry had a secret chamber for kiddy diddling.

FORGET ABOUT IT, I know for a fact that Joe Pa absolutely had NOTHING to do with kids. That is strictly Jerry Sandusky's sickness. Joe Pa is clean as a whistle, with his only blemish being his failure to do more, period.
He failed to do more, and that will forever tarnish his legacy.

I find it odd that a guy that makes good money doesn't own something a little nicer...I've purchased houses that were better quality than that, and when I rented them out, I was accused of being a slum lord....

the place is a dump...

insofar as the acreage goes, it's a generally rectangular shaped parcel on rolling terrain located about 2 miles SW of Memphis....mobile home approved so you can drag your 25 year old single wide up there, connect the utilities and away you go....similarly sized parcels in the area are going for about $75k, when we add the 10% premium for it previously belonging to the king, when we add closing costs, it would come to about $87,000....

so how bout it....can we get the paperwork started?

Why? It totally makes sense considering Paterno's cult of personality and his vanity.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

The modest appearance of Joe's house has been legend for years. I was in the foyer once when I was about 10 years old. A friend and I were there to gather up ScottPa to play football in the adjacent park. The house is bigger than it looks from the front. It's a ranch home very typical of the sort built in State College in the 60s and 70s.

And yes, sad news about Joe and lung cancer.

NY Times reporting that Jerry Sandusky's home has been vandalized for the second time in a week. Thought I'd look him up on whitepages.com. Bwahaah....

Second Mile might cease operations. No sane person would want to fund what was a front for child abuse.

My problem is that part of the country. Who wants to live SW of Memphis? The summers are brutally hot, its landlocked, which makes it worse, plus, its tornado alley to boot.
SHIT, in this depressed housing market, I can get a nice place by the ocean for the money your asking.
PLUS, im not your average Elvis fan, I dont feel a need to own a lock of his hair or live on property once owned by him. Im an educated fan. I admire the music, the legacy, the iconic status, his great influence on our culture and society. I have given lectures, shared my wisdom with many, its the course ive chosen to pursue, I am actually working on a tribute show, its in the early planning stages,
but, it will really be amazing.
As far as Joe Pa's crib?
Not every rich person chooses to live in a BIG showy or flashy home. Look at Warren Buffet?
Some folks like to keep a low profile, can you blame them?
I'll pull you out of that one bunk hilton and cast you down with the sodomites. The warden, shawshank redemption.

Felix? What planet are you living on? Real estate prices are in the toilet. When the bubble burst a few years ago, a shrewd investor such as myself can find deals around every corner.

And yes, if you do the research, and if you have between 90 and 150,000 to burn, I guarantee you that I can find you a nice piece of land by the ocean. Obviously, you havent got the brain for investing that I do, so the best property you can find is a rat-infested sewer, with a single wide on it.
As for myself?
I dont live on the side of the tracks that you do felix. That pic you posted is a joke.

Right now, the market is so depressed, and guess what? It STILL hasnt hit rock bottom. I am shocked that you dont realize this.
Felix, if I were you, and I am glad im not, BUT seriously, if I were in your position? I'd get me a nice place by the ocean, breathe in that salt air, and sip cold drinks all day, fuck the bitches all night, and stay off these message boards, FOR GOOD.

and pay an additional 10% because some famous person lived there? no doubt, you've got the makings of a real estate wiz...

I own three houses (including my own) two rentals I that I bought for a song.....real estate is my business, but not in the "hey you want to buy a house" sense.....
Right now, the market is so depressed, and guess what? It STILL hasnt hit rock bottom.

depends on where you live...prices in my area have pretty much flat-lined, but that will only last until the banks start releasing more marginal properties.....it's going to continue to drop albeit at a significantly lower rate than what's been seen....people are holding their money to make the best possible deal they can, and lots of them are going to shut out at the window....banks are playing fucking hardball right now, so that short sale you were hoping to steal....it's going to be a lot more difficult to find than you think...

I live in the some of the most gorgeous country these United States have to offer....wide open spaces, with lots of mountains, mountain streams and high mountain lakes that are as pristine as they were 100 years ago...some of the best hunting and fishing you can find...white water rafting that will take your breath away, I'm less than an hour from what ,many consider to be one of the best fly-fishing areas in the world....we've got world class skiing and a great {albeit small} downtown area where you can take your pick of some great looking women and have some of the best food you've ever tasted....great microbreweries, great local music, some really good concert venues to see small to large music acts, greenbelts, a river running through the middle of town....cost of living is relatively cheap, but the wages are less than stellar....I've lived lots of places (including by the ocean), but this is the only place I keep coming back to......
