Gotta love grandma in Des Moines breaking off her granddaughter with "You’re getting a little weird, aren’t you?"

Translated out of Grandma-speak, that means "Snap out of it you goddamned weirdo! You're giving the family a bad name!"

My late maternal grandmother, as a farm born and raised a woman as any Iowa grandmother, used to drop the same kind of bombs on her flock from time to time. Things like "Steven's acting a little different these days" actually meant "What the hell is wrong with that kid? He just sits there and doesn't talk to anyone." You just have to read into it.

Yep, and I bet Grandma can't wait for the little weirdo to pull into Des Moines for Christmas dinners every year.

Grandma: "I've decided we're going to save on the clean up this year...and dish washing, so grab a paper plate and styrofoam cup and dig in. And I don't wanna here any weirdo shit about creating trash 'cause we'll burn everything in the burn barrrel when we're done."
