Dopedale got all riled up because of.....
For whatever reason Baltimore doesn't use Ray Rice enough........
dinks pointed out that Rice has in fact finished second in the league in touches.

I made the take because after watching a couple of Raven games that was my conclusion. I came back with my reasoning.
In the Ravens 4 road losses, Ray Rice averaged 9 carries a game. That's too much of the load on Flacco's shoulders. Cam Cameron forgets who is the foundation of their offense at times, after they fall behind.
For most people that would be enough, but not duncedale. That one statement I made was too egregious to let go, after all everybody should have this season's NFL stats in front of them before they post, like he does. :meds:

Looking further into the statistics what you'll find is Ray Rice averaged about 25 touches a game in the Ravens 12 wins, & 15 touches a game in their 4 losses. Forget dickdales argument that once the Ravens fell behind they had to abandon the run & or going to Rice to get back into the game. Just last week the Texans were down big to the Ravens, what did they do? They didn't put all the pressure on TJ Yates to win the game, they got Arlan Foster going. They didn't win, but climbed back into the game and made it much closer than it would have been had they abandoned Foster, hence my point.

Now for the big question.

How could your panties get in such a bunch with my take, then you offer up this morsel despite the fact the Cowboys beat the 9ers in SF?
That said -- Niners have wayyyyyy to much defense for the Gnats to handle.
Are you a hypocrite, arbiter of shit takes, or just a moron?

I'd put my money on all three.

In order to come up with some decent smack, I'd have to actually read Dinks takes, that hasn't happened beyond this thread, nor will it in the future. Not to mention smack chat was funny & time plentiful in 1999, and both are much less so in 2012.

Yeah, you indeed need to read my takes in order to come up with "decent smack," apparently.

But go ahead and keep advocating for one-dimensional offenses to counter their one-dimensional weakness by becoming more one-dimensional, and showing off your fine coaching accumen by suggesting more running and less passing when behind in games.

It looks good on you... really.

What on earth does one have to do with the other? Not that I necessarily agree with Dins's take, since the Giants—despite playing at a much lower level back then—nearly beat the Niners in San Francisco only a short time ago, but what does a Cowboys win against the Niners in the very early part of the season have to do with a Niners-Giants playoff game?

See, the Giants are better than the Cowboys on both sides of the ball, especially considering the way New York is playing now.

The Niners are also playing a lot better than when they lost to the Cowgirls, and probably better than when they beat the Giants. It will all be moot by Sunday night.

True, but it doesn't change the fact that a Niners-Cowboys game played early in the year has absolutely no bearing on a Giants-Niners CCG, which was the absurd position taken by Joe in PB.

And the Giants haven't improved?

You guys do understand what a take is? It's not necessarily the same as yours. Everybody has them, and they are not always correct?

That said making the following take with no statistics or arguments to support it is idiotic, after trying to smack others for the same.
That said -- Niners have wayyyyyy to much defense for the Gnats to handle.
Its a good take just because......Dims?

Dims likes to argue, he has more time on his hands than good takes, sense or smack.

I need to post stats to convince you that the Niners have/had a dominant defense?

OK.

They were #2 in scoring offense.

The Giants were #25.

On the other side of the ball...

Giants were #9 in scoring.

SF was 0.8 PPG behind them, good for #10.

So yes, statistical analysis supports you being a dong, as well as the subjective analysis.

That all might mean something if the Giants didn't have this uncanny ability to flip a switch in the post-season and become a completely different team.

It's incredible to me how people never learn. The Ravens are the best defense the Pats have faced all season long yet people have NE "ROLLING" in this game.

There's going to be plenty of embarrassed faces in here by 6PM. Patriots have let teams like the Dolphins and Redskins have big leads on them before going "gawsh dern! We better score us some points!" Ravens have an attitude and I've seen it before when a team starts to physically fuck up the Patriots and the Ravens will do this......frustration sets in, Brady starts bitching for calls, can't convert on third downs, Belichick starts going for it on 4th and 6....it's pretty funny to watch. You'll see it today.

Ravens win and that is a PROMISE.

The Giants will never be able to get rid of that guy!

Every time they're about to pull the trigger, he resurrects the team.
Good, I hope he leaves on his own terms because he deserves too.

He rightfully took the criticism after Washington beat the Giants, but there still should have been none of the firing talk. The Giants D was decimated by injury most of the season. They played numerous games in the middle of the season with 3 rookie LB's, Umenyiora and Tuck missed games, and still managed to stay close enough to win when the healthy players started coming back, which is why you're seeing the D play better now.

It also didn't hurt that Manning had a great season and Victor Cruz came out of nowhere.

One of those 3 rookie LB's was USF's own Jacquian Williams, who did a damn good job covering Vernon Davis last night, when the DB's couldn't.

YaFJ needs to join the ranks of those obnoxious betting touts who scream at us on the radio about their "documented 82% winning record!"

He kicks their asses all day, every day, and about fourteen times on Sundays. So what if his death-and-taxes reliability is based solely on being Japanese-porn wrong? It's still absolute money.

New York doesn't deserve Tom Coughlin, plain and simple. The man wins when it matters most but it's never enough for the 7 million assholes who make up the NY metropolitan arena. Coughlin would never lower himself to a team like the Skins.

Don't let the media fool you. While some of the d'bag fans were calling for his head at 7-7, the vast majority of the fans were behind Coach Coughlin. The team battled through a good number of injuries (the same way Green Bay did last season), got healthy late, and have been on a good roll ever since. It probably helped a bit when Rex Ryan ran his mouth and Coughlin rightfully said, "just play the game".
