What is your favorite new band?
Im not talking the old faithful that has your soul.
Im talking the new band that has recently turned you upside down and literally makes you crave more and more of them.......
For me, its Rise Against.
Now, I have all of thier other CD's (The unraveling, Revolutions per minute) and I really dig them, but this CD is flat out thier best work to date.
Siren Song of the Counter Culture hasnt left my car changer in 6 weeks.
These guys are fucking great, and not a day goes by that I dont listen to them....Thier lyrics, passion, and talent is undeniable.
Lets hear it, what is your new favorite brand?

Duh.
And while not exactly new, I was pretty impressed by Eric Sardinas. http://www.ericsardinas.com
I think I've covered these both in this very forum.

I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one
And speaking of Eric Sardinas --
While looking for something else, I came across a link for the Oklahoma Blues Festival, which is in the next couple of weeks. Sardinas plays one evening, followed by Eric Johnson, followed by the Arc Angels, the latter of which I'm not familiar with, but a lot of people seem to like.
If you're in the Tulsa area, and you miss this night of tunes, you are officially fucking crazy. I'm jealous. I've seen Eric Johnson a couple of times, and just saw Sardinas last weekend. Two extremely enjoyable live acts, which should have broad appeal to most listeners.
Johnson will be at our local Blues Festival, along with Buddy Guy.
Chalk that night up as a "must see," and get your Okie asses out there and groove.

Re: What is your favorite new band?
I rented this game called Burnout 3 for PS2, and one of their songs is on the soundtrack. They sound overbearingly cookie cutter, but their sound is almost exactly what I'd imagine you'd be into. So that's cool.Raydah James wrote:Im not talking the old faithful that has your soul.

I'd also have to go with the Evens. It's Fugazi without the screeching.

Fuckin' mancreamed ballbagel.
Your idiocy has been proven. They sound overbearingly cookie cutter, but their sound is almost exactly what I'd imagine you'd be into. So that's cool.
Heres an idea dicknipple-try listening to everything they've put out, including 88 fingers louie, before making an assesment on what you think is 'cookie cutter' you pussy.
All in all, my music tastes span everything minus pop-even a little country (not a word, trev)

Did you just admit that you wear earplugs at rock shows?Donovan wrote:Good call. It's too bad you missed their show. They really gave my new Etymotic earplugs a workout.Bizzarofelice wrote:them tooThe Assassin wrote:Death From Above 1979

Keep that shit on the DL, bro...
"Keys, woman!"
Yes, I do, and I'd like to be able to continue to go to rock shows for many years to come. I already have noticable hearing loss and don't want it to get any worse.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote:Did you just admit that you wear earplugs at rock shows?Donovan wrote:Good call. Re: What is your favorite new band?
Don't need to be. The fact they're getting exposure on a less than mediocre video game is all I need to know. Also, the fact that the song is terrible isn't making me itching to hear more.Raydah James wrote:
