It's a fucking movie review. And it's topical--since the GOP has continued its spiraling descent following the ludicrous and shameless cynicism of McCain in choosing the pathological loon in the first place. And if the basic subject and ball-busting facts of the whole bizarre incident don't spur on some sort of comic reaction, then you need help.

Yer a little unclear here, SS. Of course I don't give a shit who it is, anymore than one would want to know the actual identity of the hacks and quacks around here who like to attempt to juggle and fart at the same time. Neither the movie nor my take were horrible at all. Julianne Moore was great, and before God was, I am. The reason for a thread on this highly anticipated but underachieving effort is its subject's unfortunately enduring importance. That utterly boggling event--and the harrowing cynical recklessness which informed it--continues to resonate like a fracking-induced earthquake through the toxic debris and malignant deterius that is the "GOP" today. HBO should be commended for its public service in providing this honest, though kid-gloved, expose and cautionary tale.
