VERY stiff schedule, imo.
1. Late Monday night game to open the season - followed up by a trip east for an early game (it was changed) at Miami, which has historically been a real tough place to win in September. Heat. Short week, east travel, early game, heat. NOT GOOD.
2. Follow that up with games v. Pitty and @ Denver. Tough games, both of 'em. NOT GOOD.
Lucky to avoid a 1-3 (or worse) start, imo.
3. Bi week in week 5 sucks. MUCH better to have a bi week late in the season, when you're banged up and needing a chance to have a week to heal up and hopefully make a push for the playoffs. At week 5 you are just getting into the groove of the season routine ---> and then you shut it down for a week. NOT GOOD.
4. Five games traveling far east. That's too many. NOT GOOD.
5. Finish the season off with back-to-back roadies. At that point you may be looking at must win games to make post-season. Not fun to look at road games there. NOT GOOD.
The only saving grace I see is three straight home games late in the year, when you might be looking to make a playoff push.
But some of the edge is taken off that because two of them (KC, DEN) are division rivals.
Those games are dogfights whether they are home or away.
Just a tough road overall, as I see it.
