That might be partly explained by the fact that Hood plays some downs at NT, where sacks are even less plentiful than at DE in a 3-4. This year will be the real measuring stick as Smith is gone, Hampton will start on the PUP list and both Hood and Heyward are going to be called on to play major roles befitting their draft status.KC Scott wrote:32) Ziggy Hood – Pittsburgh – A solid but unspectacular starter on the Steelers 3-4 defense. Excellent versus the run but an average pass rusher.

Stafford proved how good he can be when stays up right but having #81 helps. Pettigrew used to be aggrevating with his drops...he's been downgrade to annoying. He still drops balls but not nearly as often. Given Stafford has helped them get back to the playoffs...you have to give this draft an A right now. They've got 4 starters from that draft...they got Delmas and Levy in the 2nd and 3rd. Sammie Hill was a decent find in the 4th.

Big Z-Hood fan here, B. Hope that jolly fucker kicks ass for the Steel this year. Happy as hell for him when Pittsburgh drafted him. Great fit. Kid has nothing but upside.BSmack wrote:That might be partly explained by the fact that Hood plays some downs at NT, where sacks are even less plentiful than at DE in a 3-4. I don't agree with that brief analysis of DHB - taken #7 overall by Oakland.
If he comes back with another "good" season it will not prove to have been a good pick.
It will merely cement the reality that he is a capable starting NFL receiver.
A #7 overall pick needs to be a helluva lot more than that to be a GOOD pick.
I'm not bashing Bey, because he's come along fairly well, but let's not kid ourselves.
He's nothing special, and a #7 overall needs to be at least on the borderline of being something special.

I couldn't agree more. He put in the time and the work, now he just needs to go out and perform. He certainly has the physical tools.Truman wrote:Big Z-Hood fan here, B. Cush was scary good last season. Hopefully, he doesn't get clipped for roids again.
