Just heard that too..classy guy and one of the true pioneers of the muscle car era..got to meet him and Dick Edelbrock at some vintage races in Portland back in 2003. Shinoda gone, now Carrol..would have loved to had one of those Shelbys with a signed glove box...

Totally sucks. He was a dear friend of my fathers, and at a very young age I remember them going to a junkyard and coming back with a wrecked '70 GT500 and both rebuilding it to original specs-down to an exact paint match. Looked showroom beautiful and sounded nasty as hell.
Growing up, he was one of the coolest and nicest guys you could ever meet. He loved talking rides, and always made time for fans of his or his cars. He would do anything for a friend, and truly was a man of his word.
