Don't know why he's working on getting bunts down. Homeboy is 0 for lyfe, which I take to mean he's due to go yard. That and I'm surprised he didn't break two fingers in batting practice, Detroit a place where we're not allowed to have nice things.
In order for the Giants to have be resilient, they also have to be beatable. You don't play 6 elimination games without knowing how to dig yourself a hole. The Tigers are just as battle-tested...they came from behind late in the season to win the divsion, they've lost a commanding lead in the division series but held on and they've beat a team decisively when they were the better team...they're ready for this. They've played games in the Bay Area...the A's fanbase is about crazy and loud as the Giants fans are at AT&T, no surprises at the atmosphere.
The parallel is there to '06 with the longer layoff and the National League team having to a dramatic 7 game series...also, the Tigers were the favorites then also. The Giants took advantage of the Cardinals shaky pitching, cold bats and bad defense. The Tigers were beat the last time they were on this stage for those three reasons. The Tigers have gotten unreal starting pitching, timely hitting (and not just from Cabrera) and they've been the best team percentage-wise in the field through the LCS. Keep pitching and don't boot the ball around...this shouldn't be as tough of a series as some might think will be.
I won't go sweep...I'll say Tigers in 5. Verlander will finish the postseason 5-0 and get the first and the deciding wins and the series MVP.

Prince is going to win MVP. Good thing about the layoff is that he hopefully got his head on straight and will stop swinging at shit only Delmon goes after.
The Giants whored the AL in the All Star Game and they have home field here. Leyland is an overrated old fuck as a manager. He sucks and barely even won the Central with his shitty managing for a team that should have won it by about 10 games. Giants have a great manager, and players who will battle and take care of business. Tigers aren't that good. Sure they swept the Yankees but the Yankees are worthless.

Giants in 6.
I actually can't disagree with any of that other than the prediction. That said...thank you, my dear friend. On behalf of all Tiger fans, thank you.
nice mention of the all-star game, though. everyone complains that too many irrelevant players influence home field advantage in the world series but this year it was verlander's shit start and melky's m(p)v(e)p(d) that had the most bearing on the outcome.
I was gonna pick the Giants but after reading this thread I can't see them winning.
I guess the best I can hope for is for the series to go to at least the sixth game to see AT&T Park decked out in orange and black on Halloween Night. Seems appropriate somehow.

San Fagcisco on a normal day:
I wonder how the faggots 'dress up' for Halloween.
Barry fucking Zito shutting out the Tigers? Verlander getting lit up? Is Ozzie Guillen in SF?

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.
When that potential third out dribbled off of third base and into left field I said, yep, it's going to be one of those nights. Then the Zito RBI. Unreal. Give Sandoval the MVP whether they win or lose.
Great postseason managing by Bochy. Zito was about to fall apart. He gave it his all and got some great D behind him. I might have given him one more batter but I respect the call.

Why would you discredit your own team? He made some good pitches that the Giants teed off on. Like that second HR to Sandoval where all he could say was "wow."

it's fine. tigers have a killer staff and the giants are blowing their load.
Glad the next one is tomorrow...wouldn't want to sit on that one for long. Zito throwing a good one tonight isn't so odd since he saved their season on the road in the LCS and they've got that streak of winning his starts. I'd put it third in terms of best starts against the Tigers in the postseason...Brett Anderson's 6 scoreless facing elimination and Kuroda's 11 Ks in Game 2 were more impressive. Blanco gets the unsung hero award with two great catches in left off Cabrera and Fielder's bats.
I just want to this to get to a Game 5 so Verlander can get another crack at the Giants at Comerica. Sandoval careered it tonight and the Tigers blew some early shots at getting to Zito and got some nasty bounces against them. If the Tigers can't scratch one out against a guy with a Valverde-like ERA...not going to feel good about this even with it heading home. The Tigers are dominant at home (won 33 of their final 44 in the regular season and 4-0 in the playoffs)...just going to have to get this split the hard way.
Tigers had all the bounces go against them in a game they would have lost anyhow. These things have to even out, right?
Zito having a good outing isn't all that odd because the Tigers can't hit Frank Tanana, whatever team he's playing for at that particular moment. Think Tiger batters fall asleep while waiting for the pitch to reach home plate, except Delmon, who already swung before Zito completed his delivery because what's a ball 60 feet outside of the strike zone?
Valverde burned his last chance in a game we were already out of, so at least Tigers won't have to blow a second loss wondering whether or not he truly had his "mechanics" fixed.
Don't understand why Porcello and Smyly are on the roster for if a long relief opportunity comes up and Leyland goes with...Al Al. Can't wait till we need a shutdown 7th tomorrow.
I'm willing to live through a Giants' sweep if it means three less games of Tim McCarver. At least Brent Musberger is senile in a comedic sort of way.
This was the most c'est la vie game I've ever sat through since the Tigers truly seem to treat momentum as the next day's starting picture. Hire Jim Leyland!
