Sparty On

Post by M Club »

Strange bedfellows this time of year. If Michigan somehow manages to win whatever division we're in we'll have to send thank you cards to...OSU and MSU.

I really liked how Gardner played today. I'm definitely all about a Sparty win today because I wouldn't trust lame duck Penn St. to help next week.

I took NU in the pick'em to sort of hedge my day a little bit. MSU has turned a corner. Problem is, it's too late.

The corn got screwed with that late hit near the endzone when the Michigan State player pushed the #3 corn in the back.

Still a fun game to watch.

Ditto. Showed good awareness in ways Denard's extremely deficient, ie. go through your reads then RUN MOTHERFUCKER YOU'RE FASTER THAN USAIN BOLT BUT CAN ONLY ARMPUNT BALLS DON'T WAIT FOR YOUR SLOW ASS MIDGET RECEIVERS TO GET SEPERATION BECAUSE THEY CAAAAAAAAN'T!!! That and the couple times Minnesota jumped so he used the free play to take a shot downfield, whereas Denard sticks to the script.

Then again, it was Minnesota so none of this counts against real teams. Was the most thoroughly unconvincing 22-point road win ever.

Oh ja, fuck Sparty. It's like when your little brother makes you think he's going to win his own fight then gets his ass kicked so you have to stick up for him then get your ass kicked too. Fucking Nebraska.

Now that I'm calm and sober...props to NU (getting a little tired of saying that). MSU finally found some offense, held a 10 point lead in the 4th, and still wasn't good enough. Just that kind of year.

It was a fun game. Best O in the conference vs the best D. Martinez broke a couple long runs which were the difference in the game, imo. I'll be glad once that fucker is gone.

Shitty season but a lot to look forward to next year. I think the offense will be light years better and there won't be much drop off, if any, on defense.

I'll be a dick and say actually tOSU has the best offense. Sparty is the only team to keep them under 20.

State should be better than 5-5...that's obvious. That defense is excellent and I'm impressed they've not lost a beat after losing Worthy in the middle. Bell is a stud and still puts up numbers behind a patchwork o-line. The receivers are such a far cry from just last year...no playmakers like Martin, Cunningham and Nichol. Maxwell isn't good enough to lead that meh group of receivers into even a top-half offense in the conference. As long as you have #24 and a solid defense, you'll stay in most games...Maxwell has to become a difference maker eventually.

I wouldn't spend much time fighting that point. I guess I should have prefaced by saying that from a statistical perspective, it was the top O vs the top D.

I'm actually pretty pleased with the WRs. They have talent, size and speed. The dropsies seem to be a thing of the past. All they really needed was a few games under their belts. Still have yet to see that go-to guy BJ Cunningham-type emerge. I think Aaron Burbridge will eventually be that guy. In addition, Sims (TE) and Thomas (FB) are very good pass-catchers. Not concerned with that department.
As long as you have #24
Therein lies the biggest concern. Got a good feeling he's going to peace out after this year. Why return to a mediocre offense and tons more wear & tear on your body?
