Re: Winter Storm Q
why don't you have somebody strap a plow to the front of that fukkin' fork lift and drive it over to casa wags.
a little tip for the next blizzard. park your clapped out old monte carlo or whatever the fukk it is close to the end of the driveway, facing the road. makes for an easier dig out.
or just stock up on rice light and wait it out. you are in KC, the snow ain't gonna hang around that long.

Oswego is a city in New York. Lake Oswego is a city in Oregon (the wealthiest city in Oregon, in fact). If Lake Nonegro had a snowstorm of that magnitude, the city council would simply pay God to blow the snow across the river into Milwaukie, and let those Heathens deal with it.

Nope, I bought and paid for it. Ran it w/o a payment for 4 years after I paid off my 5 year note on it. When I finally traded what was left of it in, it had 175k+ on it. It was the ride that took me to Arizona and back, handling 90MPH on I-40 and 6+ degree grades in Salt River Canyon like they were nothing. It saw 117 degrees and 20 below and never once failed to start. I put 50k on it on one year, and the only repair I had was for a tire that took a nail. In fact, I never had ANY major repairs. Never had an issue that wasn't normal wear and tear. And that fucker could handle SNOW. If I had a dollar for every time I drove past some douchebag in an SUV who was in a ditch, I could have bought a whole fleet of SUVs.Sudden Sam wrote:Please tell us it's a company car.BSmack wrote: Mercury Tracer

Where do you live in Iowa, if you don't mind me asking? What are the winters usually like? Yes, I admit I am a snow pussy. I've lived almost all of my life in California and Texas but am relocating to Iowa in the not too distant future.Mace wrote:Why the fuck would anybody drive to Blythedale when there's a Hy-Vee Store 3 blocks from my house? Re: Winter Storm Q
I live in southern Iowa, about 80 miles south/southeast of Des Moines. Winters have been pretty mild the past few years with very little snow and above normal temps. We probably got 5-6 inches of snow yesterday, far less than predicted, and have normal winter driving conditions...meaning the main roads are wet but not snow packed. Temps are predicted to be in the low 30's all of next week and what snow we have on the ground will be gone soon.mvscal wrote: Where do you live in Iowa, if you don't mind me asking? What part of the state will you be living?
Re: Winter Storm Q
Not nailed down exactly but likely a little south of Council Bluffs. I guess that's in the same general area.

Things are so bad in cali now that you'll go to Iowa?mvscal wrote:Not nailed down exactly but likely a little south of Council Bluffs. I guess that's in the same general area.
Wow. It's worse than I thought.
Well, they did have great strip clubs the one time I was there.

Re: Winter Storm Q
Well, yes it is that bad and, with our new libtard super-majority, it is going to get worse. Productive citizens and businesses are fleeing California in droves. That really isn't why we're leaving, though. The lower cost of living is a selling point but the OL is from Iowa and her mother is in precarious heath so she really wants to be close to home. I can afford to be semi-retired for a few years if need be, but the CB/Omaha "metro" area is an easy commute and I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding work.smackaholic wrote:Things are so bad in cali now that you'll go to Iowa?mvscal wrote:Not nailed down exactly but likely a little south of Council Bluffs. I used to do this shit all the time when I was in my 20s. It's a little more daunting now but I'm game.

Re: Winter Storm Q
I just walk across my garage and pick one off the wall, where I store things like extension cords, pretty much year around. Works much better than trying to find them under 2 feet of snow. What were you powering up out there any way ?smackaholic wrote:
Dude, I walked across my yard through that stuff, once, trying to find my favorite extension cord.

Probably because it would end up like this highly skilled bus driver whipping a bitch in the middle of the street. Dude on the sidewalk seems pretty cool considering that monster sliding his way.smackaholic wrote:why don't you have somebody strap a plow to the front of that fukkin' fork lift and drive it over to casa wags.

Re: Winter Storm Q
There really isn't anything south of Council Bluffs but cornfields. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I was stationed at Offutt AFB and really don't have a bad thing to say about the area. CB has some fine bars. Stay away from north Omaha if you can, you'd be right at home in Belleview.mvscal wrote:Not nailed down exactly but likely a little south of Council Bluffs. Re: Winter Storm Q
Omaha is like a big Grand Rapids, which can be a positive. Middle of nowhere, though.
Re: Winter Storm Q
Glenwood is the only town south of Council Bluffs with any population, probably around 5,000, and the other towns in that area are much smaller.
Re: Winter Storm Q
While not as impressive as last weeks storm, the cornhole region of the country is getting it again. Since Wags has not weighted in on the severity of this 500 year blizzard, we can assume he made in to the forklift dock safely this morning, and will be issuing a weather and KC traffic report when he gets off.
