Nebraska fans...
Welp, like I said in the off-season, the "Legends" Division (still can't type that without quotes) will be decided in Lincoln when MSU comes to town on November 16th. Granted, the winner will still have to take care of business the rest of the way but they'll be squarely in the driver's seat.
A few questions for Corn Fan:
Tell me about your new QB, Armstrong. What does he do well? What does he do not so well? Does playing Armstrong over Martinez give you more or less confidence in a Husker victory?
To what do you attribute your recent improvement on the defensive side of the ball? Level of competition or coaching/adjustments?
If Nebraska loses this game, do you want to see the team crash and burn the rest of the way so Bo gets canned, or would you like to see him back for another year regardless?
I'll hang up and listen.

Shocking, I know.Wikipedia wrote:Currently, Phillips is incarcerated at Kern Valley State Prison. Under California law, since his crimes harmed other persons he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for time off with good behavior. He will not be eligible for release until he serves 26 years—when he will be 57 years old.

Re: Nebraska fans...
Positives: Has better physical skills than Rain-Mart.. top to bottom. Shows poise, leadership, (I truly believe the team rallies behind him) I honestly think for three years this team has felt Martinez will do what he pleases and we're supposed to accept his freedom of choice with Pelini's blessings. He is a very polarizing individual with very poor communication skills. On and off the field.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote: Tell me about your new QB, Armstrong. What does he do well? Negative: Freshman mistakes will and do happen.
Pelini coaches gap reponsiblity first and foremost. This unit is very young. The light has FINALLY gone on.. PLUS..he's letting them loose. Instead of playing your gap, it appears he is letting them attack the gap.To what do you attribute your recent improvement on the defensive side of the ball? Level of competition or coaching/adjustments?
The blitzing against Michigan was nearly unseen until last week. Expect NU to show more of "letting them loose".
I have been told by a person in the athletic department, that due to Pelini's past trangressions, he has already had his by-out reduced, and the ONLY way he saves his job is to win the B1G. So if Sparty wins Saturday, Pelini will be let go (IMO); at the end of the season. Of course it would seemly be easier if he follows it up with a loss at Penn St. or at home to Iowa.. NO!!! not the last one!!!If Nebraska loses this game, do you want to see the team crash and burn the rest of the way so Bo gets canned, or would you like to see him back for another year regardless?
Replacement... Jim Tressel: rumor is he'd be interested.
Your boy Hondo Carpenter seems to think Narduzzi needs a HC job. I'm don't think NU will hire anyone who hasn't been a head coach..
Joe Moglia is another name.. dude is at Coastal Carolina and a Nebraska native. He's undefeated I believe. Oh and will work for free, he's worth 600 million bones..TD Ameri-Trade. The thought being he'd allow NU to throw a boat load of cash at proven assistances. From his self made millions he has proven extremely effective leadership skills, organizational skills, and accountability. A CEO at HC. Yeah.. whatever.
Also the AD (Shawn Eichorst) has Wisconsin ties...who knows?

This dude? Oh yeah, he's the guy that brings the karma to Nebraska never losing at Sparty.
Not sure what he's doing Saturday.

You seem like a decent dude, Cornhusker, but if you ever refer to Hondo as my "boy" again, I will crawl through the internet and punch you in the taint. Whatever that assclown says, go ahead and expect the opposite.

Do I need to pull out the Thunder Collins card to break this horrific tie?Cornhusker wrote:Conspiracy to commit murder of your PREGNANT girlfriend and giving her a ride in your trunk.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote:MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Also, what is Lawrence Phillips up to these days?Shocking, I know.Wikipedia wrote:Currently, Phillips is incarcerated at Kern Valley State Prison. My $0.02 is that the home crowd helps the Huskers pull this one out by a field goal (~ 9-6) and turns the so-called Legends division into the Lesions division. I hope I'm wrong, cuz I'd love to see Sparty go undefeated prior to the game in Indy. But my gut tells me that won't be the case.

If..ya I know.. "ifs and buts"..howevah.. NU has 3 starting offensive-linemen out.. One being All-B1G style, plus the dude that caught the game winner in East Lansing last year..MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Spartans 24

No Martinez... ummm.. addition by subtraction... maybe..?
5 offensive starters gone.
This game will be turnovers, kicking game. I don't care about Carlos Hyde.. Abdullah is the best back in the conference.
This season is not without its disappointments for NU, great and small. Sparty’s on edge. It’s 2 am and they’re staring the big-tittied blonde right in the eye, one smooth line away from closing the deal. And the Cornhuskers can stumble half-drunk into the picture, flash a smile and take this fine-ass lady home. Wouldn’t that be fun?
NU's offense is injury ladened..but if Sparty wins...no excuse.. Good for them..I like the program, how Dantonio does his stuff.. football is "next man up"..(Mike McCarthy.. Go Pack!!!)
The Bears still suck and the Lions don't know how to win when it counts... Just a little gas for the fire..

Re: Nebraska fans...
NU outyards MSU but giving up 5 turnovers (3 in the first quarter alone) is not a recipe for success. Most of them were by our freshman. I'm damned proud of the effort these guys put in today. They've been decimated by injuries on the offensive line and that makeshift group (at least one playing out of position) ran against MSU like no one else has this year.
That being said, our OC keeps getting cute with his play calling insisting on risky plays when he should be pounding the ball. He calls a sweep with Cross who is best suited for within the tackles running. It makes you want to pull your hair out. Armstrong is a frosh and he's calling an option play at the freaking one yard line!? MSU got some absolute gifts today from a few of these bone-headed play calls. Want a free one Beck? You're behind. Ball on the 1 yard line from a downed punt deep. You put in Cross with double tight ends and you run the fucking ball up the middle!
Our special teams suck. Whoever coaches them now needs to be swatted on the nose with a rolled up newspapers and told, "No!" and then sit in a corner with a dunce hat. NU is almost dead last in punt return yardage. Several miscues in the return game lead to long fields, fumbles and better field position for MSU with a stupid penalty. Erase that and you'd have a team that doesn't have to go to extra lengths to score.
I really don't know how to read Bo's job security. He has a really young team playing and a young staff who are literally learning on the job in their first stints as OC/DC (both at the same time!). Bo's buyout is I think 9 million. There are a few high profile jobs to fill this year. I think they're going to wait another year or two with Bo, but I've been back and forth on this. He does seem like a more stable Bo this year, but it's still agonizing seeing this team and this staff learning on the job. Even with all of the chaos in play calling, injuries, horrific team defense in the first half of the season, blowout losses, they still managed to squeak out two wins after everyone assumed they were tanking the season after the Minnesota loss. Maybe it'll come down to the last two regular season games. Lose both and he's 7-5 this year. I can see arguments to keep and lose him. They will be very good next year with all of the experience these kids are getting. 7 of the 11 spots in today's starting lineup either didn't start at the beginning of the season, although one played right tackle.
Anybody who isn't blind can see that while chemistry and leadership among the seniors has been lacking, the younger players seem to be keeping the team going.

Solid effort from the Skers. I didn't think Adbullah would get 100 yards, but dude was impressive. So was your o-line. The turnovers were huge but I thought Cook was the x factor. He completed many clutch 3rd down throws.
