This is a touchdown
This is a touchdown
The "Calvin Johnson" rule was cited.
Hey, he clearly had possession of the ball with both feet down BEFORE he reached the end zone.
That's a catch.
(1) The ball is automatically dead when it is in legal possession of a player and is on, above, or behind
the opponent’s goal line.

Clear possession of the ball, clearly had both feet down.
It was a catch.
As soon as he crossed the plane of the goal line, it's a TD.
Now if he had caught the ball IN the end zone, we might have a different story.
Hosed.
Re: This is a touchdown
No, it wasn't. He never established possession or made a "football move."
Incomplete forward pass was the correct ruling.

Re: This is a touchdown
Predictable. :)
You're a homer and you're probably high as well.
Listen to Tasker from 2:03 --->
The play was over at the goal line.

Win some
Lose some
Lose some
Re: This is a touchdown
IF he demonstrated possession before reaching the goal line, the play is over the instant he reaches the goal line -- and it is a TD at that moment.
So you would totally discard the "going to the ground part."
If he DIDN'T demonstrate possession by the time he reached the goal line, yes, he would have go go all the way to the ground - basically until player movement has ended.
I say he demonstrated possession prior to reaching the goal line.

Re: This is a touchdown
True, but he didn't. The ball was coming loose as he was turning around and falling down. He never established possession.poptart wrote:IF he demonstrated possession before reaching the goal line,
