Rolando McClain - Total POS
Re: Rolando McClain - Total POS
If it wasn't for JaWalrus Russell, Ro McLain would have been THE biggest Raider draft disappointment over a horrible 10 year stretch.
That's how shitty he was.
He's obviously got major issues as a human being, but even more stunning were the issues he had on the field.
The guy was nearly universally regarded as an excellent NFL prospect.
But with the Raiders, he was slow, lacking punch with his hits, and often out of position.
Slowlando.
It was almost unbelievable how slow he looked at times.
Inside backers need to fire toward the ball and attack, but this 'tard was often seen just kind of jogging out on the field.
It was actually a little bit comical.
Garbage.

I told you he was a stupid pick at the time. You should have kept Kirk Morrison. He was a better player than McClain and would have been much cheaper.poptart wrote:The guy was nearly universally regarded as an excellent NFL prospect.

You had it right, mvscal.
Props.
I don't blame Al at all for wanting to upgrade Morrison.
As "quarterback" of the defense, he was the equivalent of a MLB team having a .265, 20 HR, 80 RBI guy in the clean-up spot.
But the pick sucked, unfortunately.
So you're right.
Oakland should have rolled with Morrison and sought instead to upgrade other positions, which were also clearly lacking.
Props.

hate to break this to you wags, but your call on berry couldn't have been more wrong if you'd tried
do you still think so? matthews is a little on the fragile side, but he's a good running back.....a 12th? I don't know, but he's provided the bolts with another dimension....mvscal wrote:Bolts panic and trade up to 12 to snag Mathews at the cost of the 40th pick. Bad move, IMO. They're shut out till 91. I blame Buffalo.
funny, spiller is a pretty decent running back on a team that sucks at the speed of light, while Best is probably working at Dicks Sporting Goods......m2 wrote:Spiller's a joke.
He'll be in the league for a minute. The team that doesn't pick up "Jet Blue".... will be the same team that "whiffed" on Desean Jackson and let the best wide reviewer NFL slide to the late second roundn one year ago.
He's faster, stronger, and has better moves then jc spiller.
but a home run type receiver....a little fragile, but a big weapon for Denver.....mvscal wrote:Illiterate, Grade A fucktard.godzilla2002 wrote:Demaryius

Rolando McLain to the Raiders. Great for RMc...big payday, but...
I'll never see or hear about him again. He's gone to that big black hole on the west coast. Sad for his career.
er, not so much..... :grin:I think McDaniels made a damn good move. Tebow's got more upside than people give him credit for. He's a QB coach's wet dream. He may turn out to be the steal of the draft.
And seeing the smirk on Gruden's face as Mel Kuiper ran his dumbass mouth about how Tebow will never be a good pro QB was worth staying with the entire draft show.
hindsight is always 20/20, but McCluster turned out to be a pretty decent pick.....KC Scott wrote: A 5'7" KR / RB -fucking genius

Very bad GMing.
No excuse for it.
Poor idea to just let your two best players (and young ones) walk like that.
Considering Oakland was in an absolutely delicious position, with the most room under the cap in the league, McKenzie has done an awful job this offseason
Maybe he can make up for it by killing the draft.
I wouldn't bet much on it, though.

Cap money carries over from season to season these days. Maybe, just maybe he is thinking long term rather than running his team like Dan Snyder.poptart wrote:Very bad GMing.

Good pick.
Enough said.
Seriously, that Raydah D is going to be VERY good this year.

Yeah. He definitely wasn't worth the 12th pick. Very few running backs are these days. They did manage to get Cam Thomas eventually anyways and he wasn't as good as I had hoped. Not a bad player, but merely decent.Felix wrote:do you still think so? matthews is a little on the fragile side, but he's a good running back.....a 12th? Well, they were 11th in yds allowed, 2nd in passing yds allowed, and they led the league in sacks.mvscal wrote:Paul wrote:I agree....if the Chiefs didn't take Eric Berry, I personally wanted McClain. Best LB at Bama since Derrick Thomas.poptart wrote:LB is a pressing need.

Re: Rolando McClain - Total POS
I think they've picked up some decent O linemen during the off season, but they're still lacking a #1 receiver and a QB......Schaub isn't going to get it done.....personally if I were in McKenzie's position, I'd try and parlay my first round pick into a later #1 with an additional 2 or a couple of additional 3's....unless Khalil Mack is still available.....he won't be but one can always hopepoptart wrote: Considering Oakland was in an absolutely delicious position, with the most room under the cap in the league, McKenzie has done an awful job this offseason

I think taking Watkins would be a mistake because without a QB to throw it to him, it's a wasted pick......

Re: Rolando McClain - Total POS
I also don't believe in Matt Scab.
McKenize signed a couple of O-Linemen, yes, but not before giving away his best O-Lineman, LT J. Veldheer.
He also gave away his best defensive player, L. Houston.
Both guys (just coming into what should be their best years) should have been re-signed -- and Reggie neglected to even use the tag.
I have no idea what is in his head.
He signed a handful of guys who are past their prime.
L. Woodley, J. Tuck, and MJ Drew, for example.
He's feeling the heat that his fat ass is going to get fired (back-to-back 4-12s), so he's trying to catch lightning in a bottle and win some games this year -- but these old guys he's signed are not helping to build a FOUNDATION, which is desperately needed in Oakland.
McKenzie is in a position where he needs to A+ the draft, and based on his previous 2 drafts, I doubt that it'll happen.
