best pistol to carry on a plane?
The Transportation Security Administration says that a record 2,212 firearms were discovered in passenger's carry-on bags or on their bodies in the past year. Anybody here had any success?

Re: best pistol to carry on a plane?
Kind of reminds me of a time going into Canada and being asked if I had any firearms in the car. I totally forgot I had a .22 rifle stashed in the back of my trunk. Good thing they didn't pull me to the side and check the car. I don't think they would have been too happy with that.

Only time I have ever brought a firearm on a plane it was non-commercial. I did a wolfman once and drove in to prison grounds on my way backpacking and forgot I had my gun. There were not amused.

That makes you as stupid as every other person that uses the lame ass " I forgot I had my gun" bullshit excuse. Wolfman is old, so he gets a pass.Moving Sale wrote:Only time I have ever brought a firearm on a plane it was non-commercial. People that "forget" they have a gun on them and go somewhere they should not with it deserve to have it confiscated and their dumb ass arrested. Especially some one like yourself who should know better.

I don't carry it everywhere I go including the shower like you so it's a little easier to forget I have it, but yea it was a bonehead move.

All the more reason to be aware it was there.

Thanks for the "pass", but I must fess up that I was like 34 or 35 when it happened. I'll save it for any bone headed move I make these days.

Pay attention Diego. I was crossing into Canada in my car. FYI---- before I ever flew in a jet powered plane it was not only DC-6, but DC-3, DC-7, and Convair 240 prop jobs.

Look at it this way, you carry your purse wherever you go so when you don't have it it feels weird and you are more likely to remember you don't have it than say your balls which you only use once a month or so which are easier to forget since you are not used to using them. Make sense now Nancy?MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:No shit. That's the dumbest logic I've ever heard.smackaholic wrote:All the more reason to be aware it was there.

I think I can speak for most of the dudes on the board by saying that we are not gonna get more than a few inches in any direction before we notice the boys are not along for the ride. Apparently, your experience is different.

Who the fuck doesn't concisely know where their weapon are in any given time? This just astounds me

Being previous military, I have a real big problem with this concept. I know where my weapons are and how to access them in a minute without an issue with my children because they know better.Screw_Michigan wrote:Apparently lots of jerkoffs.Jerkovich wrote:Who the fuck doesn't concisely know where their weapon are in any given time? I agree with you. It should be a felony to bring a firearm into security.Jerkovich wrote:Being previous military, I have a real big problem with this concept. Re: best pistol to carry on a plane?
Just to be clear, I knew where it was and when asked at the gate, I said I had a firearm in the trunk, which I had forgot about till they asked. They told me to park across the street, which I did. And yes it was still a bonehead move.

Me on the plane in the first Gulf War. But I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else these days.
