If you want propane, get something with parts that are easy to replace. The burners will go out, the plates will corode, the igniter will need to be replaced, no matter how much you spend.
Id start with Weber gas grills, if anything for the ease of getting replacement parts.

Same here. Totally agree 100% Nice having the option, and you can't go wrong with Weber quality.
Nothing against propane for grilling. It's more convenient. I use charcoal myself on a Weber kettle with a custom cast iron grill surface. It can't be beat for best results.

I far prefer the charcoal route. If I were going to use propane, I might as well just cook them inside on the gas cooktop. That is even more convenient.
One thing I don't understand is people that swear by charcoal and then use lighter fluid to light it up. WTF. Most of these folks talk about the taste of charcoal vs propane. That all goes out the window when you use lighter fluid.
For me the only way to go is this:
With lump charcoal started with one of these:

Propane for convenience. Charcoal/wood, or smoker when I have the time to 6-12 pack it for a couple of hours and enjoy the evening.

That is some very orange sauce.
It's a chipotle lime marinade. Add corn tortillas, shredded cabbage, chopped cilantro, drizzle with a little crema Mexicana and you've got some killer tacos.

lol
Lots of nice setups.
Depends how often you grill, a few times times a week or more, gas seems logical, once a week or so I prefer charcoal/mesquite because of its flavor enhancing qualities. I grill all year round and still use the charbroiler. I never grill more than 3 times a week though, and average about once a week.
Agree with the comment about lighter fluid.

Tried out the Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter tonight. Worked like a champ. Got the coal going with 3 sheets of newspaper, they were ready in 15-20 minutes. No more plugging in the electric coal starter. Its already in the trash can. :)

throw a little olive oil on the grill before to avoid sticking?
